Re: Who else is frustrated with the wind?
Problem occurs when in the late hours the wind dies out and it actaully backfeeds the opposite direction. Thats what I hate. I feel your pain. When the wind is less than 10mph here, I can be guaranteed that it will blow across my hunting area in every direction each hour. My hunting area is on the ...

Re: New Boots - Getting rid of the Smell?
I always take out my new boots and leave them on the porch for a week or so.. get them wet and let them break in. The box they come in keeps the new boot smell in there. They will air out some that way but not 100%

Re: VA opening day buck
he would look better had you used a HOYT bow
congrats man! Way to break the ice.. im assuming he's atleast going on a board. He's nice for a compound anyway you look at it. I may have to venture into the woods this week and hunt. I hate hunting fields

Re: Who else is frustrated with the wind?
winds always iffy here, even more if you like hunting bottoms. It was 5-10mph winds here and from the northeast which was fine for me. Problem occurs when in the late hours the wind dies out and it actaully backfeeds the opposite direction. Thats what I hate. Its always good to have 3-4 stands in on...

Re: Opening day here in Va
Sounds like you still had a good time out there. Some of my most memorable hunts were the ones where I didn't score any deer. The other wildlife that I was able to see made up for it. X2 :D Nothing better then to have a doe come bed down by you and have her youngins playing in front you. only thing...

Opening day here in Va
Perfectly weather but the big guys just werent moving. I didnt see anything this morning and I came out around 9am to do some family stuff. I got back in the tree around a soybean field and finally saw some action. Had a total of 10 doe, 1 spike, and a big ol groundhog pay a visit under my stand fro...

Re: We're getting hammered.
considering it hasnt rained on us in 4months we need it:) We got 8inches in the past 2 days for a total of 9.5 this week. We will end up with 10-12inches here when it passes but then again we are behind 11inches in rain total for the whole year. Only a inch of rain for us in 3months here:( figures w...

Re: interesting picture
that material wasnt waterproof was it? Looks like a rain jacket which would reflect the IR... Ive never really had an issue with UV before and im usually only 12ft up a tree or within feet of a deer. Then again, I dont wear cotton anything though lol. Heck, maybe they can see UV but I cant talk to t...

Re: 150 g boltcutters to Rage 2
I still don't fully understand this. I've always been told to keep the FOC higher on CB arrows. So how can a person switch from a 150 grain to a 100 grain BH without losing accuracy? You're dropping 50 grains in the front end...won't that tremendously impact the flight of your arrow? :? depends on ...
