I haven't been to the show in about 20 years, but now that I live here I think I'll make an effort to go this year. From what my coworkers tell me, midweek is best to avoid the crowds and the last day is best if you're looking for bargains. Me? i'll go midweek, not because of the crowds, but because...

Harrisburg PA Sportsman Show - American Crossbow federation
Just a heads up. If you're planning on attending the Sportsman Show in Harrisburg PA next month, I got an email from Dan hendricks saying he'll be manning a booth there for the ACF.
And on that note, does anyone know if Excalibur will be there?

No, I understood what you were saying rutman and you make a good point. I haven't decided whether to include a signature block for the landowner or not yet for the very reason you stated. Maybe the way to do it is leave the landowner signature block off and keep the hunter/angler's on. If landowners...

My son recently started a job in the Virgin islands and asked me to ship two boxes of clothes down to him. He told me UPS wouldn't ship to Virgin islands (found out later they would) so I went to the USPS. Each box cost about 35 bucks which I thought was high, so I went to the other nationally knoww...

I'm sure it varies country to country and state to state but here I've been told it doesn't matter what you sign or don't sign, a landowner can be held liable. Now I'm not an attorney and don't play one on TV so I won't vouch for the accuracy of that. That said, my personal feeling is if I injure my...

Wow, I'm glad I started this thread. You all make some very good points. I agree with approaching out of season, which is why I'm starting to do my legwork now. I wrestled with the best way to approach this, by mail, by phone, by person and had my reservations about mail and phone. Around here I thi...

Grizz, That's how it used to be around here also. With new PA Game Commission deer management philosophies and the anti's, the deer population has been greatly reduced. Posted signs have gone up everywhere and driven hunters to the public lands, which furthr decimated the deer. And, I now live where...

Thanks Fork Horn That's pretty much what I was thinking. With some modifications it should work. Anybody else have any similar examples? , Here is what I use, It is for Ontario but I'm sure you could easily modify it to fit your needs. I have had good luck using this form. http://www.ofah.org/huntin...

Sportsman's Resume (Permission to hunt/fish)
HAving hunted public land all my life I am now faced with the prospect of having to knock on doors and get permission to hunt private lands. Having had little to no experience in doing that it occurred to me that it might be a good idea to have a document to hand out to the prospective landowner tha...
