Robin Allen

It is my very sad duty to pass on the information that Mr. Robin Allen has passed away and hopefully is now happily building crossbows beyond the great divide. Robin was an icon among crossbow afficianos and his skills and knowledge as a crossbow maker will be sorely missed. I didn't know Robin very...

Re: Excal used on Top Shot....!

We used target points and blunts for the shots there, and the hit in the wood was to duplicate a shot by Brad at 40 yards. Stuck into the wood pretty good, eh! Cossack, FYI if the silencers fly off your crossbow, they were put on wrong, the thread that holds the two pieces together breaks on firing ...

Re: Excal used on Top Shot....!

The bows were Phoenixs, just standard line stuff except for the arrows we used to explode the apples. They were Firebolts with big HTM rubber blunts. We made lots of applesauce with that high speed camera running! It was a fun experience and I hope that it showed crossbows in a good light to a lot o...

Re: I feel better now!

I know how much I don't know about downriggers,I'm smart enough to stick with what I'm good at and I'm not greedy enough to copy someones life work in hopes of making a quick buck. My guess is that the Gent from Walker will eventually realize that he should have stuck with downriggers too.

I feel better now!

Whew! I just realized that I don't need to be angry about Maximus any more. It suddenly occured to me that it's not a Chinese copy of an Excalibur, it's a Chinese copy of a Middleton!
That's a load off my mind, I feel better now. I think I'll go turkey hunting.

Re: excalibur selling to a usa company?

If you jump over to the "Other Topics" side of the forum I covered what was going on in detail. Bottom line, we have indeed partnered with a US company that specializes in the dynamics of growth that the exploding crossbow market is providing. They are helping us to excel in the US and we ...

Re: Canada in the Rough

No big falling out, guys, just a bit of confusion caused by Thomas when he decided to exit from the video business last year. He originally was going to shut down, which left us looking to spend the money he was getting with Taylor and his new show. After we had committed with Taylor he decided to s...

Re: electrontic sight on the new excaliburs!

They are a very good quality red-dot from TRU GLO but they are a single dot sight. The multi-dot units are not great from what I've seen since the spacing of the dots is fixed and they have no way to compensate for different trajectories

Re: 2213 s

I used 2213s for years and loved them. I still pine for them on occasion but the light weight of Firebolts has me pretty well completely off of using aluminum. I used 20 " shafts and they weighed in around 25 grains heavier than Firebolts, for maybe 6 or 8 less FPS, and I shot a pickup load of ...

Gee whiz Mike, you are embarassing me!
Kath and I just go through life living by the golden rule "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". It's not rocket science, just good human relations. Wouldn't the world be nice if everyone lived by the same rules?

I used to hunt moose with thunderhead 125s in the past, before better hads were available, and accuracy with them is less than good. I'd try something smaller. I hate to sound like a salesman but I use an Exomax and I know that our Boltcutters shoot very well off of it and are basically same POI as ...

Thanks for understanding our situation. I bet that there is a toll free number from Easton, a trip to their website is probably in order for this one. The only number I have is 801 539 1400, if you call them just ask for customer service. Sorry I can't be mre specific, I'd give you my sales contacts...

We try our best, but the guys we buy the bolt shafts from seem to have been conspiring against us. We had a heck of a lot of trouble with the inserts coming out years back when we used Goldtip arrow shafts, but when we switched to Easton shafts the glue held very well and for the first year and a ha...
