Re: FLETCHING DISTANCE
Thanks to all for your help. Seems like 1 1/4" is the most used. That is what I will try first. Great people here.

FLETCHING DISTANCE
Hey everyone, I would like to know how far you put your fletching from the end of nock? I am trying out 2" blazer vanes and could use some help. Would like to get the right distance without trial and error. Thanks to you all in advance I appreciate your knowledge. They will be used on the Vortex.

Re: equinox vs vortex
If you are going to go to Africa and shoot elephants  like Bill T has done, than I would suggest the Equinox. For anything swimming , walking or flying in North America the Vortex will handle fine. :) I own the Vortex and highly recommend it. Really it's up to you, see which one you like best...

Re: FOC question...
Think of a dart. The head is heavey so it pulls the tail along. Arrow is the same, heavey in the front and the tail steers. If it was heavey in the rear the tail would steer. Not good JMO

Re: How long can last an old worn serving?
Doesn't look all that bad. If it worries you take the string off and turn it end for end. Then you should be fine until you reserve it or replace it. Your decision.

Re: Hello
Welcome aboard. If you want a quiet crossbow put on a pair of ear muffs. Believe me the noise is more bothersome to you then it is to the game your hunting. The deer may hear the sound but by then it,s to late. Anyone for jerky??

Re: Whew!! Finally!
Hey Laura,Great going. Love a girl who shoots a hand gun. Are you using 44 mag loads or 44 special loads. I also have the red hawk 44 mag and find the lower power 44 special loads are fantasic deer killers and easy on your wrist. Do you load your own? It's the only way to go. jmo

If in doubt, notify the game dept. They will probably issue you a new tag if the deer is not editable. Why take a chance?
