Welcome aboard thumper. You're in the right place. I use 125 grain spitfires in my vortex and love them. Great accury and shoot to the same poi as my 125 grain field points. You are going to love your new vortex

I shoot the 125 grain spitfire and also the practice heads. They both shoot to the same poi as my 125 grain field points. I recomend the practice points highly but you really don't need them, just shoot the same weight field point and the spitfires will shoot the same. At least mine do out of my vor...

Both the nox and the max are known to be hard on servings . 225 lb is the cause. Welcome aboard.

I have the vortex and love it. Have no problems at all with the thumb hole stock , I think the grip feels much better when you shoulder the stock and don't have to place your thumb over the stock. I have no problem at all taking the safety off and don't feel this is an issue with a thumb hole stock....
