I've always been an 870 fan .... Got five, myself, all were bought new, in order from oldest to newest; 1. 870TB Trap, 1976; my main trap gun 2. 870SA Skeet, 1980; my pump skeet gun (they quit making SA's in 1982) 3. 870 20g, 1989 Lightweight; my favourite upland gun 4. 870TC Trap, 1994; my "b...

Hi Woody It appears only the die hards make any local shoots around here. Mayeb 3D has seen it;s hay day. The shooting sports can be cyclic in activity. However, 3D here dropped from 75 to 100 for a weekend shoot in 2002, to 20 to 30 in 2004. I have seen skeet and trap rise and fall and rise again o...

Happy New Year to ya ! Same to you :D I figured out, I bought my one trap gun and 870TB, new in 1976; that would make me......mature :? The old 870TB has had a minimum of 75,000 shells throught it (have sort of lost count, it may be more), though I have some others, I still shoot this one regularil...

Generally, and for various reasons they move on after that. Anyone seen 10Ring? He used to be a regular poster. I still look in on the forum from time to time. 3D action, with all types of archery equipment, in this area has dropped off very sharply, as have our work party numbers at the club. This...

Re: Need some Advice on What Crossbow to Buy??

the Exomax is a nice bow but it just seems that recurve is old and outdated because of the recurve. Any advice would be great!!! Looks can be deceiving. From 1996 to 2003 I was heavily involved in 3D shooting and helping to run the events at our local club. 3D has "collapsed" in this end ...

As far as dimensions and power goes, they are the same limb so they can be interchanged.

The performance of the assembled crossbow will not change, the increased power with the Exocet is the result of it having a 2" longer power stroke.

With apologies to long time forum members, I will post this again; My bias towards Excalibur recurve crossbows has been documented in the past on the forum, a lot. This is based on what I describe as reliability. The reliability ensures that the accuracy will be retained and the point of impact will...

The only main difference is the draw length. Limb strength is the same, the Exocet just has a 2" longer power stroke. Quality of ALL components is the same. The Vixen is a very nice shooting, accurate crossbow. I own both a Vixen and an Exocet. With a 385 grain 2213 bolt, both my Vixen and my E...

Re: Crossbow accuracy Excalibur vs the rest?

I was curious if anyone on this site has shot the other models and compared them. I cant believe that any of the other crossbows are as accurate as the Excalibur's. Thanks Book My bias towards Excalibur recurve crossbows has been documented in the past on the forum, a lot. This is based on what I d...

I know 10Ring( if he is still here) has a club in Fort Erie with a 3-d range. Might be a little closer for our southern cousins. I wondered if this would come up, here are some thoughts; Negative 1.) 3D with all types of equipment has fallen off in the Niagara region, this means that our volunteer ...
