Re: cheek piece or not to cheek.piece

Yeah, the cheek piece is kinda useless the way it is. Several members have built theirs up or came up with new solutions. FlightAttendent and Paulaboutform may have done this already...I can't remember who exactly. I made this for my Savage 220...and I'm working on this concept for the M355... http:...

Re: Grimm reaper!

Very similar to my brother in laws experience with Grim Reapers. Shot a small 6pt buck, no exit and the blades broke off. He is finally seeing the light and going to fixed. I gave him some ST mags and he just ordered the Xbow Tricks. He was also a Rage user until our Africa PH told him he only likes...

Re: Adjustable Cheekpiece Solution

That is awesome! I am working on a version of cheek piece as well, not happy with the cheek weld at all.

Re: constant action with the decoy this evening

Ok so I picked up one of these last night as I mentioned. It's called the Estrous Betty by Moontana Decoys. Got to admit I was pretty dubious about dropping $90 for it but they were out of the $70 one (which is still a lot of cash especially when you see what it is). So basically this is a fiberglas...

Re: constant action with the decoy this evening

I picked up a Montana decoy last night at Gander Mtn and will be trying it today in a couple of hours. Very curious as to how this works out. I may even stay at ground level just to be closer to the action.

Re: Nikon Bolt scope on sale for $119.99

That's an excellent price for an excellent scope. I paid $99 + shipping for a refurb from Natchez. And I'd gladly pay $20 for a brand new one.

Re: Arrow hold down spring arm

The arrow retainer should be about 3/16" or so off the rail. It shouldn't "clank" after the shot as it will eventually dent/chip the anodizing. You can gently bend it up (GRADUALLY) until it's off the rail. I know quite a few use shrink wrap but I've found that a piece of surgical tub...

Re: Montana Decoys, and rainy day plans

Well the good thing about this lousy weather is that when it finally blows out the deer will be moving that's for sure. I just rearranged my schedule so I now have 11/11-11/16 off! I'm hoping to put another on the ground but this is the first time I'm targeting a specific buck. We shall se...

Re: broadheads that will group with field points?

Kawaboy-ZX11, I like your name there, I had a zx11 back in the day. Scary fast bike. I don't doubt broadheads can group with field points...mine do at 30yds, I've not bothered to check at 20 or 40yds. But if you run the distance out far enough they will not most likely, (some will if their profile i...

Re: Help me mod my 380

Yes, use both, mix the pumice grit into the plasti-dip. It adds traction, durability, and knocks the gloss down. check out this thread from when I did it originally... http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=54594 I should have taken a tutorial video when I did it as it's not...

Re: Custom Products and Components -- for Crossbows and Arro

Most of the items listed are bought and assembled or like the Dr. Stirrup require specialized molding tools. Limbs would require specialized molding tools and thorough testing. More than most people not in the industry would want to invest I'm thinking. But on the flip, I've often wondered why my IL...

Re: Help me mod my 380

You can get the black plasti-dip and the Behr pumice grit at Home Depot in the paint section. I used gorilla tape to mask off the areas I didn't want the dip (middle of stirrup for broadhead clearance, mounting surface), and razor knifed the tape edges before removing. Leaves a nice clean line. I us...
