Re: Black Bear Charges Bowhunter

Bear:

No cubs.
Attacks as soon as archer is spotted.
Breaks off attack.
No apparent injuries to archer.
What caused attack to stop?

Hunter:

What the heck was he hunting
Did he really think he was hidden
Will he go back to the same spot next spring and try for a repeat using a better camera?

Re: C-2 Crank Cockers

Hmmmm. I assumed he meant the crank handle length. If that's what he meant, I assume the extra length was to give more mechanical advantage to help overcome the heavier draw weight of the later models of bows.

Amazing wound to the lungs. When you skin out that critter, if you have time, I would appreciate you showing us a photo of the exit wound, skin side. Also, I can't tell if the broad head suffered any damage in your photo. I sure am curious about that...not that there should be any criticism of the b...

Re: Equipment Failure

Grouse, I don't care if that whole episode was scripted. I don't care if it was rehearsed. I don't care if it is a recording of a couple of actors. Every time I hear it (after I stop laughing) I feel a wave of jealousy. That is top level writing, even if it is scripted. If it is extemporaneous, that...

Equipment Failure

This morning, while I was enjoying my coffee, I received a telephone call. The lady said she was calling from Intel Computers. It had been noticed that my computer had been performing in ways that was causing concern. She asked if I had noticed that my computer was acting strangely. Did it seem at t...

I've been looking at this all wrong. I always thought of "Tax Season" as something like a special, annual, season, something like having kidney stones once a year at about the same time each year. By golly, it's actually something nice. Look what it's done for Anthony!  ...

Re: Field Test for CWD Being Developed

I wonder how much they will cost? Shelf life? Margin of error (compared to lab analysis)? I can see how it would be handy for a hunter to do a quick test and then know whether to dress out an animal and spend money processing it. If they are reliable enough, just having them in the hands of the CO's...

Really?? You think that's going to work?? You must have some strange Ontario bears.

You tell us they figured out how to cheat a cheap combination lock. For gosh sake, how long do you think it will take them to figure out clockwise thread and counterclockwise thread?

Re: Lone wolf custom pro treestand

I see that this model is hammered titanium, and it costs $499.99. No doubt it would be very light and extremely strong. About the time you get to use it a bit and really like it, those rascals may well come out with a new model. It'll weigh half as much, using carbon fibre, or whatever the next mira...

Re: FOR THOSE WHO EXCAL CB HUNT IN T.P.R. OF NEW YORK

Somebody else already pointed out that if you are hunting on your own land, it would be unlikely that any enforcement officer is going to look very closely at your bow. If crossbows are legal, and you don't have some other accessory attached to it that would make it obviously a serious violation, wh...

Re: New awesome toy!

You fellows amaze me. When i see the pictures, and write-ups, of even just some of the equipment and the work the you do, just so you can get a bit of meat for the family, I am amazed.

It seems to me that it should be "father's day" all year round. Or something like that anyway.

Re: Permethrin how often

There are many, many kinds of plastic. A Walmart product would likely be the cheapest form of plastic devised by humans. Chances are it's a chemical reaction with the plastic, and a better grade of plastic wouldn't react. By the way, a color change may be doing you a favor. It could be a warning of ...

I have a guaranteed "door opener" for you, nchunterkw.

Gather up 60,000,000 shots of Pfizer vaccine and drive it to the border. We'll carry you on our shoulders from the border all the rest of the way to bear camp.
