Re: Only Beef with Excalibur- Flemish String Availability

every Barnett bow i've chrono'd (about 6 now) From the Ghost 350, 400, jackal, etc, have all hit right on there advertised FPS with included arrows and FP's the 22" bolts are a little long, have them cut down to 20". speed kills... the dacron string is quiet, absorbs shock, and is reasonab...

Re: S5 with Dyna strings

if your brace height is that far up... to where its above hte top mark... then something is not right. my vortex, the string rests about 1/8th of an inch away from the bumpers, and is about 1/4 or 1/8th below the top mark. and i've looked at about 8 bows set up properly with S5's and they all set at...

Re: pure excal setup... magical!

Miller1, Fantastic questeion, but let me try and break down the answer to this. the S5 system is designed to do more than just sound... in fact, i feel it really didn't do much as far as sound. the S5 stands for... String Shock Sound Suppression System. it did suppress sound, by a decent bit... but....

Re: C/P from Archery Talk

i see several problems here.. 1. a solid stainless steel innerloc Boltcutter brodhead disintegrating upon being fired into the dirt... ok well he claims he missed at 54 yards... so lets just for hte sake of arguments, say the heads hit the dirt at 54 yards. an ibex claims 305 fps... with a FFF strin...

Re: stringing rope sleeve

Being active duty military, i have a near endless supply of 550 paracord. i take a section, tie a few loops in the end, no serving and use it away... when it starts to show wear due to no serving, i toss it and tie a new one... my bow was used and didn't come with a stringing aid....

Re: Bag Failure

Take a ratchet strap around the OUTSIDE EDGE of your target, Cinch it down... it will compact it pretty good... don't go crazy... play with it until you find a good combination of resistance and arrow removal. the same works for old block targets.you may be able to get away with stuffing the bag int...

Re: Flemish string construction & twists

i never experienced this, but i know others have. sometimes the smaller diameter FFF string can and will slip under or over the bolt/arrow on the rail, and cause a dryfire, or near dryfire. keep a good ear out for how the shots sound. not anything i'd worry about, because its rare, but it is a possi...

Re: Flemish string construction & twists

well, i think sometimes people get a little to torn on the "speed bug". i know... the faster my bow shoots... the louder it is... and the more i tear up my block target.... but if its accurate, and your confident with it... at 275, or 325... who cares... shoot, and kill animals with it. i ...

Re: Flemish string construction & twists

a flemish string is hand made... it may appear or actually have more twists in one side. if it shoots consistantly, dont' fret it. my FFF string, (excal version) is actually about 1/2 an inch off to one side on the serving, with more twists on one side, but does shoot very well. once your comfortabl...

Nap spitfires. Rage 2 blade. Most of the top brand expandables will shoot like a field point.
