Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

I think all these cameras work the same way, so the instructions I posted back on page one should, I hope, work for you. When I tried to stick my camera to my bow, with hot glue, I first roughened the surface of the camera, it helped some, but this method didn't work well. The industrial Velcro work...

Homemade broadhead targets

I just made a target for field points, basically a foot thick box stuffed full of rags, with the front and back made of carpet, seems to work well. Now I want to make a target for broadheads. I will not be shooting it much, just enough to be confident of where my arrows will be going come hunting se...

Re: Vane size, does it matter?

As kids, back in England, we made arrows for our homemade long bows by fastening a lump of modeling clay (we called it plasticene) to the front of a straight stick. Worked well enough for a picky seven year old and they didn't need vanes, although they would have helped too. Start putting those shar...

Vane size, does it matter?

I was reading past posts, trying to find discussion about the choice of the correct size fletching for crossbow arrows. I read about FOC, but nothing much about the how fletching size effects stability. It's not just a question of having the arrow spin. For rockets, stability is achieved by having t...

Re: To wax or not to wax?

I seem to remember reading that some wax should be applied to the loops at the ends of the string, not just the middle, and that bee's wax might be the best wax to use. Does this seem reasonable? If so, how does one go about getting the wax to the right places? Must the string be removed? I have a b...

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

Yesterday I had my wife pick up some more of the industrial strength Velcro, as I wanted to try mounting the camera on the brim of my hat. She did, a four foot pack cost almost $15, ouch, That's almost as much as the camera plus memory cost me. If there is anyone out there who just needs a f...

The site I got mine from says that its sale is "ENDED". However it looks as though the same thing is available on several other sites on EBay, try http://cgi.ebay.com/MINI-DV-Spy-Camera-Key-Chain-Video-US-Camcorder-720x480_W0QQitemZ180616437425QQcategoryZ48634QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340....

Re: excelllent cheap target for 200lb xbow

What about a sack of sand for broad heads, or maybe rice, or cheap bird feed? It would probably be best if it were double or triple bagged. I'm not sure how much of a pain the BH catching on the bag would be. Probably have to put something underneath to catch what spills out,
