Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

Well I just tried scratching up the back of the camera and used JB KWIK to glue the Velcro to it. To my surprise it did not work, the glue stuck to neither the plastic, nor the camera back. :? So I cleaned off the back of the camera with a little acetone and tried Bob's suggestion, he was right!! It...

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

My practice target foam deer was actually in front of my barn, but like the real ones it just blends in, and I did hit it, although that's not to say my barn doesn't have a few holes in it already  I don't think that the glue on the velcro that has the glue already on it would be strong enough...

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

I just noticed something rather distressing :( The Velcro pad has pulled off the camera, it stuck on the Velcro attached to the bow. I'm thinking that getting the glue very cold was perhaps a factor. I'd put the camera on and taken it off the bow half a dozen times, but always inside the house. It s...

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

The video I shot this evening is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvZe_fUbmXQ it was about 6:15pm when I shot the video, and if I had been hunting today I would have been calling it a day by 6:20pm at the latest, or in my neck of the woods "the end of prime time". IMHO for $18 this is rem...

Fastening a key ring spy cam to an Excalibur Ibex crossbow. You will need: Spy cam camera (search Ebay for "key ring spy cam".) Hot glue 2 inch wide, 2 inch long strip of “Industrial” or “Heavy Duty” Velcro (Jo-Ann Fabrics or similar sell it.) Scissors A 2 inch by 2 inch scrap piece of ¼ i...

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

The cameras may originally come from Asia, but they are shipped finally from within the USA. Which is why it usually only takes a couple of days for them to arrive,

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

I just made a mount for mine on my Ibex. Hot glue, velcro and a scrap of 1/4 inch wood was all it took, 10 minutes to do. I shot video to see if it was pointed easily in the right direction. It was. It looks really promising. I'm out of town for a couple of days, but when I get back I'll make a YouT...

Good eyes Booner, it is indeed a steehead, thanks for nudging my memory. It's usually like a steel trap, you know, rusty and illegal in lots of places,

shockwave broadheads

I'm still trying to figure out what broadheads to use with my 20" firebolts. At first I didn't really consider mechanicals, but, having read a bunch of previous posts I'm now thinking I should. I have 100 grain shockwave mechanicals for my compound, I haven't shot them yet. I got them when the ...

Re: Changing your Avatar

I actually have a second "broadhead in tree I sorta didn't see", that one's about a 2 inch diameter. Thought I could shoot between it and the other undergrowth about a foot from it. I was wrong  that doe lived.

Re: Changing your Avatar

Looks like a vintage broadhead. What kind is it? Did you cut the tree down and bring it home? Looks like a wall behind it. The broadhead was a 125 grain Razorback, if I remember correctly and yes, I cut the (very small) sapling down and brought it home. It was on a friend's farm and I got permissio...

Re: Changing your Avatar

Having my wife host the picture on her Facebook account seems to have worked. And yes, there was indeed a buck standing behind that sapling that I didn't even see. Luckily I’d already put one arrow through him, this one was an unneeded follow up. He dropped where he was standing about 30 seconds lat...

Uploaded the picture to imageshack and that appears to work, except I can't get rid of the pictures size, don't know why photobucket didn't work :?:

Changing your Avatar

I know I should know this, but apparently senility has indeed set in. How do I change my Avatar? I uploaded a picture to photobucket, and can display it here http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l635/dwilley1/th_Broadhead200by200.jpg?t=1296692389 but when I try to use the URL "http://i1127.photo...
