How does it shoot? Can you test it at varying measured distances, say 20 yards, 30 yards and 40 yards?

Describe the trigger pull.

Describe the appearance of the limbs.

Heck, designer, I had enough problem with a shotgun when I shot trap! :D

What might sell would be a reusable shot capsule that could be fired from a Xbow that was rigged to shoot bolts. Shooting a grouse with an expensive carbon bolt and expensive broadhead is not a cost effective proposition.

Can you release any information as to price and availability, both for the Xbow and the bolts?

I don't know how Gary sharpens his broadheads, but I take the blades out and clamp the blade in the regular Lansky jig. That way the full cutting edge can be sharpened.

Divemaster

The patent information you have referred to may relate to an earlier prototype.

I understand that designer2 says it's best to start from scratch rather than modify an existing Xbow.

Chris It's hard to say how much resistance there will be. Price and availability of the product will be key factors. Some would buy it for the novelty...I have to admit it does tickle my curiosity. If the price was OK and it shot the super short bolts and standard bolts as well as claimed, I'd likel...

One thing for sure, gentlemen, is that the bow quiver would be a dainty thing!

Have you tried bow draw weight in the Exomax range? What was the top end chronographing? Heck, here in Manitoba, xbow hunters are allowed only to hunt in the muzzle loader or centrefire seasons. Short bolts wouldn't make things worse! I'm still toying in my mind with what Woody has been saying. I'm ...

That's an interesting concept. Your workmanship appears excellent. I hope you have looked into patent possibilities. What limits have you encountered in bolt speed? The reduction in bolt flex should result in a speed gain for the same weight of bolt and bow draw weight. What limits have you found in...

The shorter bolt should give less wind deflection. There should be more pass throughs on big game...in other words, better penetration.

Harry By all means ask lots of questions. There is a good body of knowledge here on this site. I hope you don't expect to go xbow hunting this season, though. That is, unless you have quite a lot of time before the season starts. You need to allow yourself time to familiarize yourself with your equi...

You must be implying a new broadhead being used. That's a larger than normal cut. I personally would like a larger cut. The bows I use have the power to drive through a larger cutting head. When I raised that as a desirable effect...a wider cut.... several people here said it couldn't be done withou...

Congratulations. By all means take the archery course. I'm not familiar with the one in New Brunswick, but if it's any good it will advance your understanding of archery hunting. You will also get a lot of good solid information here too. Don't hesitate to ask questions. The only bad question is the...

I misunderstood you Mike. I thought you wanted the string to lead you to the deer.

Now I've got it. You want to use it to reel him back to you out of the bog. I sure wasn't smart enough to think of that!

For sure let us know how it works.
