Re: What is wrong with these people?

I've watched a few of those shows and did NOT think much of them. One thing that stood out to me is that they usually shoot the critters in good daylight, but the recovery is usually well into the night, or even the next day! Around here that might get you the horns for the wall, but it would feed t...

Permethrin is your friend!
It has become my go-to for tick repellent!
All my socks get a treatment in the spring, as well as my fishing shirts.

My step-daughter has suffered with Lyme for a couple years now.

Coming soon - https://s26.postimg.cc/s18gr1xnd/laminate_colors.jpg The 4th color (fall camo) is currently unavailable, but should be here well ahead of hunting season. :eusa-doh: I am currently waiting for more supplies to be delivered so I can get back to turning a few calls over the summer months,...

OT - laminate deer calls

Slightly off topic, but still related to deer hunting. :eusa-whistle: As the long time members know I have been making deer calls for forum members for years. A few years ago a fire destroyed the factory that made the laminates I used for many of my calls. The supplier I bought them from has been se...

Re: Boofest Charity Prizes

Boo, (and forum members) I will be donating a deer call. Body made from a "double dyed" rose/blue stabilized buckeye burl blank. These blanks are unique, as no two are alike. https://s26.postimg.cc/rn67ouskp/rose_n_blue_stabilized_buckeye_burl.jpg Boo - would you like for me to ship it to ...

Re: Cold Weather Hunting

Buy boots a size or two larger than you normally wear.
Heavy wool socks and that extra room inside the boots helps!

Re: 2213's and Current Excalibur Models

I might mention I also found (by trial & error) the shafts that lost accuracy were a lot more frequent occurrence when shooting foam and pulling arrows by hand. A "Danny Miller" puller and attention to pulling straight (with a slight twist to break adhesion from heat) really increased ...

Re: 2213's and Current Excalibur Models

I have shot Excaliburs for a lot of years. Started with a "black" Vixen and I have always preferred aluminum arrows. I have found the thicker the shaft walls, the better the arrow will hold up. 2213s were loosing accuracy with much less use than 2215s, 2216s, or 2219s. I currently use 2216...

Re: Salt licks

Years ago we had a regular old farm store salt block out. After a few years (and a few salt blocks) the spot was a hole a foot deep and 3-4 feet wide. Someone gave us a mineral block and we put it in the hole. The mineral block was never touched, and the deer quit using the "lick". The nex...

Re: Please read and please help! This is our recipient for the 2018 Boofest Charity

Don, Having experienced the generosity and helpfulness of you and all the members of this forum with my daughter Annissa being last year's recipient, I will certainly have a deer call to auction off to help out Marissa & Levi. BTW - Annissa has had plenty of problems since last year's charity. T...
