I went scouting Thursday and found fresh scrapes that had just appeared. I hunted Friday morning and saw more scrapes. The wind started building thru Friday but we hunted Friday night anyway. Turned out to be too windy. Went out Saturday night since it wasn;t actually raining as predicted. Again it ...

From rifle hunting in the north years back we found most of the does taken were quite dry in early Nov. It is a good knowing the fawns are on solid food at that point. However it also is dependant on when the fawns were delivered that spring. If they were born later then they may still need milk.

hanging

Yes, I'm a firm believer in letting it hang. This time of the year it involves knowing which butcher will allow it in his meat locker...in Ontario few are permitted any more. So make your inquirys ahead of time. When the weather is cool enough you can let it hang outside at home and simply take it t...

cutting prices

I picked mine up yesterday for $53 cut, wrapped and frozen. Skinning, adding pork or making sausage/pepperettes etc all in addition.
Minimum price (fawn) is $40.

Ya Korey, I use the rope cocker to both load and unload...wouldn;t think of doing it by hand. After a few times the camo finish wears off in the groove. I do carry one field point in the quiver as well.

This is an excellent point to bring up DuckHunt. Occasionally I have seen some inconsiderates drop their waste in the ditch etc. Unfortunately when a few of the wrong people see this it can tarnish our reputation. For large game I always gut in the bush, asap. Afterwards the carcass or bones go to a...

First off CC no matter which model Excalibur you decide to go with it wont be a mistake. As far as I am aware all Excalibur models utilize the same limbs and same stocks...although you can now choose between traditional or thumbhole. The velocities and energies increase by lengthening the string tra...

Good shooting Kevin.
I have a heavy barrel custom varmint rifle in 243 although it hasn't been used in a number of years. About all I can recall is using 4064 with 75 or 78 grainers. Just out of interest could you tell us what is your trajectory at 800 yards? Was there mirage to contend with?

Maybe visit your local tire dealer. They have quality patches and the tools/experience to fix it properly.

Thank you Boo

Here's an update on this thread and a very big thank you goes out to Boo . A package arrived here a few days ago and inside was a cordless rechargeable 30 LED troublelight along with a peak cap embroidered Boo's Custom Strings. I just got back from my neighbours house and he was overjoyed receiving ...

Good idea Boo. The 2007 Trophy Room thread is rather lengthy and time consuming to scroll thru all the submissions. To simplify, here is the 2nd place photo as judged by the Excalibur forum family. Thanks again to all the members who participated in this event. [img][img]http://i272.photobucket.com/...
