I’m 61 and he is 14. (Don’t ask! I sent his older brother to came when he was 10.)
I'm 62 and have 2 boys 14 & 12. I guess it took me all those years to finally figure out what causes it!!!!!

Congratulations to father and son. :D

Had a buddy of mine do this on a Mulie he bow-shot in Utah. This was not just a throat cut but it extended way down the chest (he reassured me he did this AFTER it was dead) . The wound was so jagged and cut so much hair I had to order him a new cape online before I could mount it for him. L...

I just love the picture of Tyler with the turkey slung over his shoulder. I just started taking my 2 boys (14 & 12) hunting last season and they got pheasant and one deer. Isn't it the best feeling in the world to spend that kind of time with them and see them so happy and proud? They try so har...

Thanks for all the replies. As suggested, I will remove the scope and bend the arm up a little to get it off the rail about 1/8". I had previously put sticky velcro over the tip (didn't think of the shrink wrap) and that really made the release much quieter. I put the "fuzzy" half of ...

Bolt Retaining Spring on top of rail very tight.

Hi: Went to change out my string today and the Crankaroo pulled the plastic string guard on my string changer over the bolt retaining spring on top of the rail (do not know the proper term for it). Seems like now the up-curved tip of the spring sits firmly flush within the slot in the rail when no b...

You could call it Excalidarity ... 'cause we hang together!
When facing unreasonable pressure from the Bowhunters Association I guess one could further expound on that phrase as:

"Either we hang together or we hang separately". Benjamin Franklin

Nicest Thing Just Happened - Thanks Foreman

Last week I read that the Pennsylvania Fish and Game Commission had approved Crossbows for use during the Archery Season for deer but that they had outlawed the use of scopes. I saw a notice that Foreman had a couple pair of original iron sights for the Excalibur crossbow and was offering to give on...

Skarek said: The thing is that when they know that their prey don't have a gun, they skip using theirs. I think this is one of basis of my argument. You obviously do not have the "ghetto" element we have here in the US. Many people are shot and killed after completely complying with the de...

Sharek ; I would have cause to doubt the statistical evidence you quoted... I beleive you would find that the mere showing of a weapon without pulling the trigger stops thousands of crimes yearly...criminals who are shot at or shot and not killed do not seek medical attention and are likely underre...

I saw an archery show recently where Chuck Adams offered a tip. He said he always aims for the heart. That way if the deer jumps the string his arrow will usually still hit the lungs. Makes sense to me. Jerry +1 -I heard that a while ago. I wish I had followed that advise over the winter when a com...

I can tell you from experience that even a relaxed deer can jump the string. Just this last winter I had a doe broadside at 42 yards (lasered) that had its head down and was feeding totally unaware that I existed. I placed the sight just behind the front shoulder at about the middle of the chest and...

Hi PaJack.

My advice would be not to use anything. The bowstring wax only caked up and caused the string to double up on itself on the crank axle and also allowed for some slipping when cinching it up tight. Use it plain for best results.

I started using ground blinds last year for safety and comfort at my age and unfortunately cannot use these mechanicals to shoot through the mesh. I just started to open the mesh window half way this year to take videos and the deer did not seem to notice so maybe now.
