Re: OT: Canadain Firearm Buy Back Program
I hadn’t given it much thought before, but I now wonder why Trudeau and his cabal handled the amendment the way they did. It was a politically clumsy and risky thing to do. So, were they simply being even more arrogant, or, was this just an innocent lapse in judgement? Or is there another motivation...

Re: OT: Canadain Firearm Buy Back Program
Standing alone Bill C21 is a travesty. The amendments associated with it were, thankfully, so outrageous and excessive as almost to become a joke. Then the government spokesmen assured the public that the amendments were exclusively directed at "assault" rifles. That lie was repeated over ...

Re: OT: Canadain Firearm Buy Back Program
A tourist walks down a deserted street and is confronted by two muggers. They take his wallet and one muggers says to the other “we better kill him so he can’t identify us”. The other says “I guess so””, but just then there is the sound of a police siren nearby and they just run away. Being mugged i...

Re: OT: Canadain Firearm Buy Back Program
The ONLY good thing about this is that no good comes of it for the government. The firearms community is upset. The anti firearms community is upset. Trudeau gets no political bonus points.
We still have the legislation moving forward that deals with handguns. Nothing to pop the corks on champagne.

Re: Late Season Archery - The Ups & Downs
Nog I bought a set of tire chains at an auction sale. They sat in my garage for years. Never used them. I wound up giving them away. I reached the conclusion that if I actually needed tire chains, I and my truck would simply stay at home. If I recall your account correctly, you had a three tire chai...

Re: Rechargeable batteries for lumenoks
You have proved the economy of using rechargeables. If they prove out for holding a long term charge, that would make them a no brainer on all considerations. Knowing that they held a full charge for the entire hunting season would be one less thing to think about, especially for those who have long...

Re: Rechargeable batteries for lumenoks
That’s a good, practical test, Paul. I’m curious about one feature, however. What would happen if you retested six months and let’s say a year later, would both batteries HOLD a charge equally during storage?

What! No apology from the Prime Minister! He does them so well!
He could apologize for dropping that amendment onto the legislative agenda, knowing it would be controversial, and knowing the Gharbi anniversary was just around the corner.
Wrong guy made the apology.

Hmmmmm. That was just Charlie Angus. He is NDP, but He was elected from a Northern constituency, and may be the only voice with those views from his party. If Singh starts humming the same tune, I would take hope.

Sounds like you have the lucky version-no painful seized up joints, no coughing up a lung. Otherwise you wouldn’t be silently sitting up in a tree.
I hope you are swarmed by deer, and the most stressful issue is the struggle of how to pick out the best one.

Re: Thinking about a Charger EXT cocking crank?
The advice on line length is different from the conventional advice. Normally we are told not to put any load on the line until a couple of wraps are on the spool. The point where line attaches to the spool is usually the weak point in the system.,we were told. Maybe the line strength is such a high...

Re: Head Up or Head Down...and Jumping the String
Wheelsquad That was some interesting video that you posted. She was relaxed, head up, when you shot. If she had just been a tiny bit less successful in ducking, you wouldn't have spined her, and she would have likely led her fawns away....with a possibly survivable wound. If there is a pattern to be...
