Re: Metal lbex continues to impress me

The longer limbed models especially the lighter poundage models had awesome triggers. It wasn't until draw weights climbed above 200 # or so that aftermarket triggers were even justified IMHO.

Re: The broad broadhead discussion

Steelhead 100's or Ram Cat 100's. If a Kid then I'd personally stick with Steelheads or similar type mech that won't come open while loading. ram Cats are great but exposed blades require attention all the time when reaching for things or loading/unloading..

Re: Found /Paradox for sale

Great xbow. I've had several and all would push 335-340 w/425gr arrow and Danny's cables/strings. One of them I had pushed 340fps with a 456 grn 2219/BH combo. All have shot 1" or less at 50 yds.

Re: New Self cocking Excalibur with a push of a button

Looks like it adds about 3# and a lot of it is all forward...probably not going to be very easy to shoot off-hand accurately..lol

I put a new band on and use a Bic lighter to take the stretch out of the bands.

Re: Stirring the pot...Broadhead opinion

Rocket Steelheads....guessing 35-50 head of Ohio Whitetails taken and a handful of Turkeys. All were Pass-Thru's with exception of one. That particular harvest was a 63yd shot from a 45# wheeled compound and the arrow was broken off at the vanes when the deer fell over 5 yds after being hit. Farthest...

Re: What's next??

I have several Excals and usually reach for one of my two oldest models...my 2006 Vortex or 2004 Maxpoint(compound). I think It would be awesome for Excal to do a limited edition Exocet 200 signed by Bill T. or something that makes us recurve guys drool... They definitely need to offer a "tradi...

Re: NAP Spitfire out of a crossbow

New clips/blades, is the way to go...and just don't open/close them for fun while sitting on stand or showing buddies:) It's really only a small inconvenience considering the BH's other major strengths. Just something to be aware of, and it explains why so many who don't change out blades/retention ...

Re: NAP Spitfire out of a crossbow

I've shot them through paper and duplicated the issue out of Vortex, Exomax, and Phoenix models. With new or uncrushed retention springs or ones that have been "redimpled" with a small punch on a block of wood they stay closed up to 350Fps. The fast loading nature of recurves(especially hi...

Re: NAP Spitfire out of a crossbow

Here are my experiences with these on Excal's. In a nutshell, re-dimple the retention springs each and every time you open them OR remove them altogether and use dental rubber bands. The ferrules bend easily (as long aluminum ferrules do) when shot into hard targets or deer/bone so make sure you spi...

Re: Dental Bands?

In my experience this is true and false....They will not open if they are brand new with brand new crush spacers. Once you open those blades by playing with them, catching them on stuff etc...with each opening they get easier..and possess less and less friction to hold them closed. Coupled with the ...

Re: Ol'man Multi vision climber (steel)

I've had top of the line Summits, API's as well as several other great brands and now all I own are Ol'Mans. Of them all, the only other stand, I've really liked beside the Ol'man's were the Summit Elite(lightened Viper with Sling seat). For me the net seat and the other flexibility features such as...
