Thanks Joe. I'm thinking about the Zeiss crossbow scope. The minimum on its' speed ring is 27...

Vixen II speed?
I need to break out the chronograph but could someone give me an idea on about how fast my bow will be shooting. I traded for it but it's unfired. I have a stock string and an aftermarket but I don't know the make, looks new. I've calculated a bolt weight with 150 bolt cutters at 415 grains. About w...

Maybe a silly question but I'm curious...
I have very little experience with crossbows but I took in a Vixen II on trade recently. I've been thinking about what all could be done to tune for accuracy. I've been told that marking bolts so that they can be oriented the same way will help with consistency and that makes sense. Do you guys expe...

Re: Cut on contact?
Thanks. I think my field points are 125 grain but I may be confusing that with my compound. It sure would be nice to run the same weight on both platforms.

Got a XLR coming, mount questions
Pretty excited about this scope. I own a couple of vipers on powder burners and it's very good glass. My bow is a Pheonix and doesn't have provision for a cheek piece. I can fix that with a cheek pad. But I'm concerned about eye relief. Will I need cantilever mounts?

Re: Could someone explain all the string choices?
Yes thanks. That helps a lot.
Now what exactly is brace height? Is it the distance that the string is behind the line marked on the rail? That line is worn off on my bows rail.

Could someone explain all the string choices?
I see Flemish. maybe continuous or infinite loop? Stock Excal strings. I have a new to me Pheonix that has a stock string. I like how it shoots but the string has some wear and it needs to be replaced.
Thanks
Paul

String rubbing the rail and resting behind the marks on rail
Is this normal? If not, how do I correct it?

Re: Arrow drop question.
That 38.5 MOA you reference is assuming you are shooting out at 600 yards with a muzzle velocity up near 3K - all that goes out the window when you are shooting 300 fps @ 60 yards. Forget what the manual says that hash mark is at and follow the cross bow instructions for sighting from Leuopold/Redf...

Re: Arrow drop question.
I thought for some goofy reason you were talking about a non adj Drop zone scope. I'm shooting dimes from 20 - 40 yds, 400 gr arrows w/ setting on 3x on my Leupold 2X7x VxII if it will help you any. Danny Miller had the reticules installed on it and gave the company [not Leupold] the sizes he wante...
