doe tag

I was successful in getting a doe tag for 63A. I also have an extra tag for 63B, but am still trying to find land to hunt there. Seems like most land owners don't want anyone to hunt their property, but everyone I talked to complained about deer doing crop damage and/or creating a driving hazard. If...

The Liberal Party's mandate

Very well stated and, in my opinion, an accurate summary of the Liberal policy on labour negotiations. While the Liberal government has cost Canadian taxpayers billions of dollars (gun registry, Radwanski, PWGSC, sponsorship scandal, etc.) through mismanagement and third world style corruption, they...

Maple, another option that works well on deer (moose also) is to use a reciprocating saw. It takes only seconds to cut down the spine and it's easy to stay straight down the middle. Blades are cheap, there's no oil or residue from the saw to taint the meat, and you can use a cordless saw if you don'...

Mike, the additional (more than 1 per WMU) went on sale yesterday and will be available through the automated system until August 31. You can now buy up to 6 tags in certain units, limit 1 tag per phone call. As of September 1 you'll have to contact your local MNR office to obtain the tags.

jerky recipe

Sliver, I tried your recipe on the weekend. Simple and produces great jerky. The only problem is that my wife has taken a liking to it and I have to find a good place to hide it. Thanks for posting the recipe.

The lines are free now and there are plenty of tags left in most units. Thanks to ecoaster for supplying the link to the MNR's list of Hunt Codes. http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/mnr/fwmenu.html Good luck everyone, I look forward to seeing some great pictures this fall. Hopefully, one or two of them will b...

Caribou with a 45-70

Tigerpaw, I haven't been up there yet, but have booked a fishing/hunting trip for September 2005. I called some references provided by the outfitter and they all agreed if the caribou are migrating you can get very close. In fact, they stated the biggest caribou were taken with a bow, compound and c...
