There may be another explanation. Arrows and bolts don't actually fly straight, they kind of "wobble" towards the target. The fletching keeps them in a relatively consistent flight path (extremely consistent in the case of Excals) but at any point along that path the arrow will probably be...

Wabi, I totally agree with you. Last year I put apples out in two seperate areas that I hunt. In one, I couldn't put it out as fast as they were eating it. In the other, only the squirrels liked apples. I saw deer walk right past them without even stopping for a sniff.

Id be lieing if I said I didn't care if I get a deer. I love spending time in the bush, I enjoy talking with and hunting with other bow hunters, and I feel truly lucky to be physically and emotionally able to hunt. But I still want to get a deer, and a nice buck would be a real bonus.
