Re: Venison Aging/Processing

I've been aging my deer for decades. Deer are brought back to camp, meticulously field dressed, washed out very well, then hung on gambrel (skin on) to age. Helps that I live in Michigan and temperatures have generally cooperated by remaining under 45 F (when they exceed, we process them right away)...

Not gonna happen to me...until it does

Never thought I'd fall victim to delamination. We're in midst of bow season and Matrix 380 is out of commission (hello Vortex! and Matrix 355). Was excited to put Matrix 380 to use on moose hunt last week in northern Ontario. Sitting in blind, patiently waiting for bullwinkle to come by, when I hear...

Re: Excalibur Matrix 380 issue

I can't imagine that it is on purpose but the OP is giving the guys who didn't make his string a black eye. You have absolutely zero issues with me Buddy! All my Matrix 380 has shot have been your strings. And they perform flawlessly as expected! Cheers, Nog x2 Don's strings are gold!

Fouling shot for Matrix?

The Excalibur Explorer case is exactly what you need for a float plane trip. Took Janesy's advice and picked up an Explore case. Very nice, although I wish it was 1-2" longer/taller (stock & rail stretch the case). Took apart my Matrix 380, put in case, drove to camp where I do all my sigh...

Re: Matrix 380

Sorry you lost it Hillcountry, but it really does raise intersting follow-up question. What is the "cannot pass up" price for a particular Excalibur model? I think it's driven by four factors: 1) which limb family (exo, matrix, micro) 2) what level of technology (cranks, extendable stock, ...

What to do

Vortex, Matrix 380, Matrix 355 all dialed in! Taken deer with Vortex, and time to break-in the Matrix 380. Archery opens Friday, 01October, here in Michigan. Thursday nite forecast is perfect (47F) and will get those deer moving on-schedule in the morning. But, I've got a north Ontario moose hunt sc...

Thats the reason we hunt. You didn't take anything home but you had an awesome time
x2

You've got a terrific spot for anything/everything you plan to hunt. Fantastic!

And - great job not getting busted! These warm autumn days make it hard to avoid sweating and giving yourself away.

Re: Insert glue survey

I will throw some holy water on you if you want. Life is much better with them than without! It is also good for turning off Lumenoks and tightening field points. Glory be, I've been saved  Can't find the Danny Miller pullers, but guessing they might be similar to the Double D Magnum Grip Ar...

Re: Insert glue survey

AAE Max Impact (black), paired with Black Eagle aluminum flat nocks. I've shot those arrows dozens of time and almost always use the threaded T-handle to pull arrows. Never lost a nock yet (which happened twice on factory BEE 18"/.001 arrows). Are you using the Black Eagle rear aluminum nocks?...
