If I were you I would cancel the check. I don't like to pay with checks, too much personal info on it. A check has your routing # and account # on it, most times address and phone. I haven't missed yet. If you go to the hardware store, bring along a field point. You can find washers with the same diameter hole as the threaded part of the tip.
