Hey Carl, Like your phrase swamp doney. Got to tell you I just came back from China (Harbin and Bejing). They served me freaking doney. I toured a slaughter facility there and you would not believe it. North America has NEVER had such poor sanitation (I mean including 1604 at Jamestown). Saw dogs sk...

Hunted WMU 82 starting October 1. Been five times. Saw one and had another one get down wind of me and blow. I think the hot weather for the first two weeks has surpressed evening activity. I also agree with Greg Miller in his book. the October lull Oct 7-20 is the most difficult time to hunt. I fin...

Cambridge is certainly a hot area. Surprised to see them this early. Usually, I do not see them for another week in 78 and 79 WMU

Rubs
Sandman, My experience is the size of the tree means less than the tine mark height on the tree. Most rubs occur within 20-40 inches above the ground. But the tine slashes that exist above the rub are a really good indicator. The exception of course is when the tree is a sapling that can easlily be ...

Randolph
Carl, My father went to VTC (family all from Norwich and Union Village) and met my mother there. My father was a basketball star at VTC during the 20's. Mom's brother Pearly worked in the Dairy herd for nearly 40 years and live in the house across the road from where he, mom and their sisters lived ...

The flag is a fake
To wit: * There is no historical reference to a flag of the "stars and stripes" design being carried in the Battle of Bennington. The only flag documented as having been used that day is the one known as the "Green Mountain Boys" flag: green with 13 white five-pointed stars in a ...

tracking
Sorry I was not clear, My tracking is 99% before the hit. The Benoit family in Vermont are one of the best known families for the tracking style of hunting during the season. I am not in that league. My tracking comes in the off season learning seasonal travel roots to various food sources and beddi...

Flatlanders the scourge of the earth
Vegetables in Vermont? Must be a Flatlander. Living in Burlap and looking at Mansfield. Vegetables and seafood go together. My family, all 6 gnerations are resting in Union Village Vermont Cemetary. That is all the proof that is necessary. Regarding understanding Vermont, I suggest you check your hi...

Red Label is correct. 1,760 yards in a mile at 20 MPH that equals 35,200 yards per hou. divided by 60 minutes equals 586.666 yards per minute. Divided by 60 seconds equals 9.7777 yards per second. 350 yards divided by 9.7777 yards per second equals 35.7957 seconds to cover the distance of 350 yards....
