John, I am shooting almost the identical set up as you, minus the wraps, but my scope is set to closer to 280 FPS, maybe 285..
What string are you using?

I am using Gold Tips with Brass inserts and aluminum nocks, I use a 100 grain broad head, and 4 " Duravanes. It is proving to be a pretty reliable set-up, however, I am considering having a few grains shaved off of my brass inserts to lighten it just a tad.. I like the heavy FOC, it adds a bit ...

I sure don't want to get into a flashlight argument in this thread, but there are far better/smaller/brighter lights out there in a similar price range. Don't get me wrong, I own every Mag lite model they have made.
My comment was more of a joke than a confrontation. :D

Thanks Pydpiper. Was any of your testing done with any broadheads ? That's what my final goal will be at a later date. Yes, half of my shots did include broadheads, I only did that to see if they would wander off on me, due to broadheads, not the vanes. I have never noticed a difference in broadhea...

I did up three bolts with 4" Quick Spins and compared them to 3 bolts with 4" Duravanes. All six bolts were Gold Tip II, brass inserts. There was no difference in POI from 20 to 50 yards, regardless of wind direction. Mine were sent to me by a member to check them out, I absolutely love th...

If your arrows are flying good then I wouldn't change them.
I find the brass only helps when it comes to wind, it helps pull the arrow through without much interference.
I don't have a scale, but I do know that the brass are substantially heavier, they are actually even physically larger (longer).

There have been several sightings around here (1 hour east of you) of these extraordinary cats. (You use a Maglite for light? We need to talk.) I operate an animal management company in your basic vicinity, and rest assured, they are around. Last year there were three reportings between Woodstock an...

I had the same problems when I started out, since then I have learned a few tricks, and now have a very consistent shot. 1. Before even trying to do a 50 yard shot you need to level your scope, I used a 4' level, leveled it at 20 yards and used a 6 inch on my bow, when the two line up, tighten it. 2...

I don't have a scale, but here is what I know:
I have the Gold tips with a brass insert, and 5" vanes. they have the exact same POI as the 2219 with aluminum inserts.
I chose the durability of the Gold Tips with brass insert, heavy FOC and amazingly accurate/consistent up to yards.

Under normal circumstances I am not a "by the book" person, I do what feels right to me, not what is recommended. However, in this sport I think that the laws should be closely followed, it is a safety issue, a big one. Bait pile was stating that the information you seek is somewhere in bl...

A LEO's job is to take the weapon and let the courts decide if it was legal to carry or not. For that reason I would not attempt to use it in the city. As Hipwader states, there are by-law officers out there who can guide you the best, the laws change so quickly that there are few people who can kee...

The wax is definatly softening the serving, after going so long without wax, and without wear I ended up waxing it anyways, for moisture reasons, it is already showing signs of small depressions where the trigger holds again, no damage, just impressions that were not present prior to the waxing. The...
