There is some good advice in this thread, I have been using the sweeping/figure 8 technique all along without realizing it. I have found it very difficult to steady a good shot and found continuously moving the Xbow would always let me cross over the target in a semi controlled way.

I never quite understood this thing.... Fathers always dread their daughters getting pregnant. Then once the kid pops out they're all happy :? Anyways, congrats Doug :) It's the "getting" pregnant that fathers dread, not being pregant. Congrats on the new baby in the family!

If it is a project you are after it sounds like you picked a good one! If you are after a sturdy carrying case to protect your Cross bow I saw a pretty neat trick at Bass Pro on the weekend. This may be common knowledge around here, but I haven't seen mention of it. I was talking with the sales guy ...

OK, it may be the freezing cold blowing wind, I don't know.. I twisted, turned and did everything short of swearing at it.. I now have every yardage landing inside of my 2" target.. I don't know what went wrong. After I got to the correct adjustment I put 5 bolts out at each yardage, and every ...

Thanks for the quick reply, I am sitting here fretting. I am pretty sure I did just that, I had the speed dial set for about 330, and the crosshairs were set to 20 yards, then when I went back to the 50 and made the adjustment to the speed dial it affected my 20.. It's cold out there.. But I am goin...

Vari Zone questions-- can't seem to get quite right.

New Bow, new scope, new problem. I had this scope dead on yesterday at 20-30 yards, but my 40 and 50 seemd to be high, by about 4 inches. This morning I went out again, turned the speed dial up a hair and now my 50 is dead on, so is the 40. But, now my 20 and thirty are high.. This is driving me nut...

Where do I start.. I saw some lit up nocks in a store yesterday, they were about $15, definitely worth a try. Especially on nights like this when I plan to out out practicing, like right after after this post. My 40 and 50 yard shots are drifting high and right by about 4-6 inches and I wont be able...

I am going to Bass Pro in the next day or so, I will see if they carry that particuar brand. I like the idea of a lit nock, I have yet to experience the benifits or lack of, but I may as well start out right.

Thank you for your PM response. I have been reading and reading trying to learn all that I can, it seems that I missed a step by not finding the glossary of all these terms. Now that you mention the names it is all beginning to make sense, like the nocks, I have seen multiple posts regarding ones th...

First crossbow today - here are my thoughts

This is my first crossbow, it came today, Exocet 200. An hour and a half to put it together, I probably could have done it faster if I wasn't smiling like an idiot the whole time. By the time I got it all together it was dark, but I ventured out anyways. I put a 4' square bag out beside the shop, li...
