Re: Lame year for harvests
I've been spending time enjoying the new found youth in my shoulder. I'm shooting a compound bow better now that I ever did in my younger years. A couple weeks ago, this young doe was giving me fits by hanging out behind my tree for almost an hour. https://onedrive.live.com/embed?resid=DE60831E6602D...

Re: Another fun night in the industrial park
That looks like one heck of a drag uphill! I agree. Success would require some serious effort. My hunting area is just the opposite. Getting to my stand(s) is a sweat inducing climb, but most of the sled drag to the truck is a piece of cake provided you don't get run over by a runaway carcass. I've...

It's one of the benefits of owning an Excalibur.

A mature doe can be one of the most challenging targets. Congrats on settling the score.

Father/daughter double
Although it was a bit warmer than we would have liked, both of my kids and I were all up trees this morning before daybreak for the last Saturday of our archery season. Things were relatively quiet until about forty minutes after sunset. This small 7pt buck that was new to us showed up on a trail ca...

Re: Kudos to West Grey Police
Thieves suck! You were lucky with the outcome. As I passed someone painting graffiti in an inner city this week, I couldn't help but wonder if losing an index finger on the painting hand might cut down on the problem. Crimes that willfully disregard others property need a punishment that criminals w...

Congrats to him. When used properly, a Rocket Hammerhead can leave a amazing blood trail. It was my go to broadhead out of an ExoMax.

I'd spend a lot more time in the stand if I knew that big boy was in the area. Good luck with him.

Beacon nock battery replacement
Having ran a beacon nock battery down after more than four lighted days in the woods, I had the opportunity today to attempt replacing the battery. I'm happy to report that replacing the battery was easier than it was on a Lumenok. Here are a couple photos of the beacon guts. You'll notice that the ...

Beacon nock run time = plentiful
I fired an arrow with a beacon nock on Monday morning and missed because I misjudged the distance. I saw the arrow bounce off of the rocky terrain and disappear down through the woods. I didn't find my arrow in what limited time I got to search for it. This evening while I was walking out from hunti...

Congrats on a nice one. His neck is all swollen up for early October in TX. Not all deer follow the same schedule.
