Posted these on Archery Talk and figured I'd put them on here as well. Both deer taken with an excal phoenix at 25 yds. Same arrow and same 100 grain spitfire used on both. Shot the second one a bit high and broke off the gold tip arrow I was using so she is retired. First one ran about 50 yards and...

Congratulations man!! Now you got some meat in the freezer and the pressures off. I took about 15 pounds of that doe I killed to make jerky and its just about gone!! :shock:

Be careful with that shoulder though.

Curious.... What'd ya do to your trigger? Did you modify the sear angle or lessen the engagement? I super glued thin plastic strips on top of my trigger bar which lessened the engagement (less creep). I kept adding them until I felt the sear engagement was just right. Gout can be excruciatingly painful and is no joke for sure. Make sure he follows the Docs orders on avoiding certain foods; some of them can promote flare ups. Hope he has a speedy recovery and you two can get back in the woods.

I have to disagree with you guys somewhat. I have a vixen and it is a great bow, but slower bows can never be BETTER than faster bows, considering that all other variables are equal. Faster bow will always be better in terms of performance. Flatter trajectories are more forgiving. I consider myself ...
