Re: OT - dog training collars

thanks to all who responded. As is usual with this forum, good advice and offers to help. My dog is an 8 mth old female rottweiller. I've done the puppy obedience at which she was pretty good. The problem is her stubborness. Half the time she responds well and immediately. The other half of the tim...

Re: OT - dog training collars

What kind of dog and what kind of training issues and what are you training the dog for (hunting, obedience, etc)? E-Collars should be used as a tool in conjuction with other training methods and not relied on solely for correcting "problems". Tritronics makes a really good product as does...

Shed hunting and roadside finds

I found my first shed yesterday (the 4 point) and my wife found her first today (the 5 point)...We're hooked! The skull I found on the weekend while driving down one of the sideroads near our house. It's a road I drive fairly often but this guy must have been hiding under the snow. As I drove by I t...

Re: Question for the shed hunting experts

The one I found was about 20 yards from a fence crossing. We did check around other crossing too but didn't find anything.

When do they actually start dropping them in this area...does anyone know? This one looked fairly fresh. Not sure why I say that but it does.

Thanks

Question for the shed hunting experts

I was out for a walk with the dogs today doing a little shed hunting and found my first shed. Is this just the beginning, middle or end of the shedding season in SW Ontario? Where would the most likely place be to find the match for the shed I found? Any other tips on where to look for sheds would b...

Re: color blind and cant see blood

I'm a card carrying member of this club. Exact same as One Shot Scott and hikerman. I've been told I'm missing or deficient in the red colour pigment so anything with red in it I don't see as brilliantly. I can't see blood for anything. If I didn't see where the deer went and it's not close by I'm s...

If you're in Niagara I don't think you'll ever beat the prices that you can get at Gander Mountain or Dick's on the U.S. side.

Re: photo contest: open for voting

To break the tie for 3rd place I'd like to withdraw my vote for myself and switch it to Fishn-Hunter as I had indicated in my previous post.

Re: New Puppy

Hi Tom,

Great to hear that things are working out with PeeWee. We give a lot of people advice and it's very refreshing when we hear back from people that listened, did what we told them and it worked!!

We look forward to hear progress reports on Miss Moxie once you get her.

Re: photo contest: open for voting

Well I don't know if this is acceptable or not but I'm voting for myself. I love the buck. I love everything about the hunt and I love the pics that Riley took.

So my vote is for LondonDave

If it's in the rules somewhere that you can't vote for yourself then I'll vote for fishn hunter

Okay help me out guys. I've looked through the trophy room a couple of times and can't find Boo's pic anywhere. I need to see them all before I vote.

Thanks

Re: New Puppy

Glad to hear you're getting one Tom. We just got an e-mail from Ann today with news that you were taking one of the females. I think they are going to be great hunting dogs and would have take one ourselves if we didn't have 4 already! Make sure you keep us updated on her progress. Dave (and Liette)
