The averages are very close, within ten yards. A 50 yard average recovery really isn't bad at all.
My Muzzys are right around that mark.
Thanks for the data Sumner!!

Re: down to 2
You really can't go wrong with any Excal. Pick one and go with it. You won't be disappointed.

On the way to work (pics)
I have learned that in order to prevent missed opportunities travelling with a camera is a good idea. So where I go my camera goes. These are some images from the past two weeks as I travel to and from work. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c48/chris4570/IMG_4451-1.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/al...

Re: What broadhead do you use ?
I use 125gr 3 blade Muzzys. They work, plain and simple. Do they throw down the best blood trail?? Probably not, but the blood trails are certainly there. Heck I've tracked them through flooded timber so some of the lack of a trail is due to the water vs a poor BH. I've had deer drop within ten yard...

Re: Do you use a "cure" when you make jerky??
I use the basic cure recipe, plus additional seasonings, with my Big Chief smoker. The cure is just salt, sugar and water. Soaked overnight, then smoked the next day.

Re: new to cross bows
I've used a feed bag filled with plastic shopping bags and used shrink wrap as a target. I shoot only my Muzzy broadheads with target blades into the bag. I have never had a pass through or trouble removing the arrows. When the bag wears out just slip another over top.

RJ, RJ, RJ.....If you wanted some venison I'm sure I could have spared a couple chops. Although yours is guaranteed to be more tender than anything I've got.
Glad you are OK, and seem to be in good spirits about the whole incident.

Re: OT-deposit on soft drink cans
I'm fine with a deposit, so long as I can return my empties and get the deposit back.

Lake Simcoe ice fishing
I was just on the Lake Simcoe fishing board and noticed a guy went through the ice today. Apparently not the first this season. Is there any good ice? My neighbours and I are hoping to get out next weekend. Would like to try for whities off Innisfil Beach. Maybe Cooks Bay and perch is the safer way ...

OT-deposit on soft drink cans
I was at CT today, bought an energy drink and noticed that I was charged a 10 cent deposit. I asked if I could return the can to the store when done and was told no. How is it a deposit if you can't get it back?? And are other stores charging this without our knowledge? If so where is the money goin...

Re: How to quiet down a 15' ladderstand?
I don't have any experience with a ladder stand, but I can kind of get an understanding as to what you are talking about. Where the ladder sections connect there is a pin that slips into the tube above/below, correct? Noise is taking place here? How about grease? Or drilling a hole through the two s...

Always a pleasure to read your stories Mike. At least you know the outcome...there has to be some comfort in that. Hope to see some more stories, including the continuation of this one.

Re: Unhappy New Years day
One Shot, my sentiments exactly. The pull, the drive, the love of deer hunting is for me second to no other outdoor passions. I would rather hunt deer than fish, than hunt rabbit, squirrel, duck. You name it. I haven't duck hunted in two or three years. Squirrels in about five. No grouse. Kind of sa...
