Re: Excal. Equinox
The first 2-3 years of production they had the grey rail. Then camo was added for the remaining years. At the time it was the flagship bow and may have been the first Excalibur model with a camo rail. I don't think there were any other differences other than the camo. Someone else can chime in if th...

Nice looking setup. It should be deadly on varmints.

Re: Trail Cameras and Bears
This will take your cams well out of nose level. https://www.spyhighmounts.com/ Mounting the cameras higher is the only thing I found that worked. The Spy High system worked great for me last year. You do give up some detection range when you mount them high, so I would only do it if/when necessary...

Big bear
Well, heavy at the very least.

I'm guessing at some point they lose their ability to climb.

Re: Shim Scope
I lost sight of the speed of the Magair. I’m wondering if he cau use the 40 as his 30? Something like that could work. Ignore the numbers in the scope and treat the circles as if they are 5 yard increments instead of 10. That would make it a 20-60 scope instead of 20-100 which is more reasonable fo...

Re: Shim Scope
I think you're running into the primary complaint I have for many of the variable power crossbow scopes on the market. Most of them aren't made for the speeds of our hunting arrows. The Overwatch bottoms out at 300fps, like many others. With a 425gr arrow, I'm guessing your arrow is flying somewhere...

Re: Going out hunting this afternoon.
Good luck! I'm pretty much Done deer hunting this season and am glad I filled my tags but miss my tree stand time... :) X 2. I pulled my cameras and recovered four stands the first Saturday in December. I'm living vicariously through those that have good late season opportunities. My hunting area b...

Re: The Streak Falters
Sometimes life happens. Occasionally things happen that cause hunting to have to take a back seat. My streak has a hole in it for Y2K (2000). It's not that I didn't go. It was my 2nd year in our current house and I was hunting very over-hunted public land near the house. I didn't fire a shot all sea...

Re: Xmas - 6 Free Norms Arrows Contest
Great idea. I don't need the arrows, but have pics I can contribute. These two pics go back to the 2006 season which was my first with a crossbow. I had taken a nice doe and a yearling in the morning hunt with my Exomax. At the time, the county I hunt had a daily limit of two much like the rest of V...
