Mountain Orchards. It is on Mountain Road. Near Winchester. Google them they have a website. I believe First Nation archery is out there too.

There is another Orchard just on the way to Manotick from Barhavan, near Stonebridge golf course?? I am not sure of the road name.

O/T Grandmother went to heaven

After a long battle with cancer my grandmother passed away quietly last night in her sleep. We are all off to be with my family in Hamilton and I will be not be up in my stand on opening day. After all family most important, without my family, I wouldn't even be able to enjoy hunting. Happy hunting ...

Everytime I logged on here I it find it amazing how many of us are living through illnesses without ever discussing them publicly. Yet here in Excalibur land all cards on left on the table. I think that is part of the appeal of this forum. Enjoy your hunt. I can't wait for tomorrow, I even considere...

This season I am shooting the Easton Aluminums that came with my package with Spitfire broadheads. Next season I am going to switch to carbon. I made this decision based on finances, I just can't justify spending any cash on this years hunt. Besides it gives me something to research over the off sea...

I have a strap on stand too farmer, but I use the linemans belt that came with the harness system and belted into the tree once I was in position. This way both my hands were free to work. Prior to climbing, I through a weighted line over a branch higher than the stand site and tied the stand to it....

I have never got a deer with anything  So I guess that makes me a hunting virgin and xbow virgin. I am very positive about this season, which is my 3rd hunting and first with xbow. In the past I went out field hunting in SK only 3-4 days in total over two season. I didn't do any research, and j...

Your stands look pretty nice. I just got my one stand up today, I had the pegs, but the tree I picked had enough strong branches on it to climb up free hand. When it gets colder I will take my pegs and cordless drill with me just in case the branches freeze up and break. It is pretty physical gettin...

I often wonder what other types of milk would taste like. Why not use elephant milk, for example...I am sure they produce lots and lots. And by switching we would be doing the animals a favour, as they would flourish in comfy elephant dairy farms. Imagine a tall cool glass of African Elephant milk a...

Great shot and picture for the trophy room. Up here we wouldn't even be permitted to carry the 38 for protection. When I was talking about going out for black bear, my brother from law in NC asked "Are you taking a hand gun for back up?" And of course I said nope just the xbow. He thinks I...
