Re: High performance string vs stock
I can only comment on my personal experience. When the Phoenix was first introduced I bought mine (not sure of the year). Set it up with a fastflight string (no idea which specific string material, but one of the high performance strings). After a few months I found a couple small splinters on one l...

Re: Made some awsome biltong today
I've had it a couple times and really liked it. Problem was it was when my son was still at home and it didn't last very long. A batch the size you have wouldn't last long with him around. It seems to disappear overnight.

Re: might get back to hunting this year
Thanks for all the comments and good wished for my son. He's actually at home right now, but has to go back in a week. He was at Paris Island for 3 months, then came home for 10 days before he went to NC for a month of combat training, then to FL for "A" school, then to CA for "C"...

Re: Huntin Finally
I wish you luck.
Hot here, too this fall. I hope it cools down a lot before our deer season opens. I'm getting too old to do the mad rush to get them field dressed and hauled to the processor's cooler before they spoil thing.

might get back to hunting this year
The past couple years haven't been very favorable for allowing me to hunt. I had actually planned to hunt a little last season, but things went wrong from the start. Went out to check the Phoenix for accuracy & performance and the serving on the string broke on the first arrow I launched. That w...

The same old Phoenix/Leupold combo I have used for years.

Re: OT: Saying Goodbye...
Matt,
Sorry to hear of your loss. I don't know of any companion more faithful than the dogs we lucky ones have the opportunity to know.
They pass too soon and it is always a huge hole they leave behind in our lives.
My thoughts and prayers go out for you and Boogs.

OT - rant about shipping costs
I recently announced I would be producing a few of my deer calls for sale this year. Response has been very complimentary and positive and I am always happy to hear such comments. Re: OT - where did the years go
Been a while since I posted this, so I thought I'd give a little update. He completed MCT (Marine Combat Training) on schedule and is in "A" school in Pensacola FL now. He is trying to do well as he realizes promotions are based on performance. He called me just after noon today (unusual t...

Re: OT - Improved health & deer calls
Thank you all for the compliments and indicating you are in the market for another call. Norm, I did not receive an email from you ????, but I will make sure there is a raspberry/liquorish call reserved for you. I am only going to make a limited number of calls, but I will try my best to see those w...

OT - Improved health & deer calls
My health and eyesight have improved to the point that I have decided to once again make a few deer calls. :eusa-dance: I have decided to make up a limited number of calls over the summer to offer to forum members later this summer/or early this fall. I will have plenty of time to properly finish th...
