Re: Sharp useful cutting tools review
I have an old USA made Schrade Old Timer "Sharpfinger" that has helped me skin a ton of deer sized game. To me it's priceless!! The other knife in my bag is a Schrade Old Timer "Drop Point Hunter". Both will shave. Did I mention that these knives are made in the USA??? NOT...

Re: Best Stock Excal Ever?
I still have my original Phoenix I got in 2006 an quite honestly if something ever happened to it I'd look for another. I don't shoot much anymore but back when I did that bow got used a lot more for target work than hunting and nothing beats those old long limbed Exo series bows for target shooting...

bucont
Does anyone here know whatever became of forum member bucont? He was a regular here years back and was making turkey calls under the Meadowbrooke Calls name. I bought a couple off him and the slate call is still in use every season. His last post was in 2013 and he said he was having a biopsy done o...

Re: Turkey box calls
No undeterminded intended but the whole rosin thing, didnt sound any different to me. Maybe I should try colored chalk!? It's not really a sound thing, it's more about one application being good for two or three years as opposed to chalk which needs regular application. Also, rosin is pretty much i...

Re: Turkey box calls
I started using violin bow rosin a few years ago on the recommendation of a custom call maker. I can get two or more seasons between applications and it's not affected by damp or raining weather. No more chalk for me. May I ask what form this rosin comes in? Is it a solid block and how do you apply...

Boofest 2019 pics
Bring 'um on folks! Another great Boofest weekend. :D A bit if a smaller crowd this year (we'll be expecting doctor's notes or death certificates from those who were unable to show up) but a great time was had by all. Thanks again to Don and Karin (and family) for going above and beyond to make this...

Re: Excalibur Current Models Best Suited For 3D/Target?
Used to shoot a lot of 3D and to be honest the best target bows were, and still are n my my opinion, the lower poundage Exo series bows. An older Vixen or Phoenix would fit all your criteria to a T.

Re: Excalibur Date of Manufacture by Serial #
If it has a serial number/barcode by the riser bolt it's 2018 and newer. Otherwise you'll need to go by model release dates to get a ballpark. Thank you for the reply. I would think a call to Dawn might help, Excalibur would surely have recorded serial numbers by date. Regards Wayne They didn't hav...
