Re: what glue to use on flat nocks?
I just use the same glue I fletch with, Goat Tuff. For the back inserts I just put a drop of the glue on it and then twist it to distribute it around the insert inside the shaft. That one drop is more than enough to hold the back insert. The front insert is a whole different ball of wax.....

Happy belated birthday Don!
You know, they say you shrink as you get older. Don't know if you could stand much of that.

Re: Crossbow victory for Wisconsin
That's good to hear. My brother lives in WI. I've been trying to get him to get a crossbow. Maybe now he'll have more of a reason to do so.

I shoot the 125 grain and really like them. Killed 4 deer and a turkey with them and couldn't be happier.

Re: Well It Wasn't The Buck I Was Hoping For.....
Thanks Dennis! The county where our farm is located is kind of restricted. With the crossbow though I can take 1 buck and 3 does (firearms are more restricted). The bad thing about it is that it's 1.5 hours away from the house. I recently got a place to hunt up here by the house though. I timed it o...

Re: Well It Wasn't The Buck I Was Hoping For.....
Sometimes you just have to go with your Gut literally haha. Yep, and mine was grumbling for some "sloppy doe" sammiches! Thanks again folks! :D Been trying to get through the memory card from that camera location, deleting the blanks, coons, etc. As I've been looking at the picture...

Re: Opening day and a doe on the ground
Congrats Hester! :D Looks like yours should be just about as good a' eatin' as mine. Who needs them nasty old tough bucks anyway! Yeah, that's the only tough thing about hunting this time of year is the heat and skeeters. This summer trimming out the roads down there at the farm I becam...

Re: Well It Wasn't The Buck I Was Hoping For.....
Thanks folks! :D Yeah, I'm mainly a meat hunter as well, but I learned my lesson last year. I was done by the middle of October so from then on I was bored out of my skull! Luckily I had some turkeys show up on camera in November and I was able to pop one of them but after that.......... :ro...

But as they say, "Patience My Butt, I'm Gonna Kill Something!" http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww184/Big58cal/Hunting/004-Correctedmodified_zps216c4ae4.jpg I thought the wind was going to be wrong for me to hunt the stand I wanted to, but they kept backing up the time when it was ...

Re: Anyone still puttin up Stands ?
I got the 4th section up, now i jus need to hoist up the Hang-on stand & ratchet strap it in place. Was too warm this mornin & i have a Thermacel i can use while huntin. Never have had to use it here before, never have been this many skeeters here before. Hey Mike, go to Walmart and look in...

Re: Make Your own bolts
Also, if you're just going to be replacing 1-2 vanes at a time, using wraps is out. There's no way that you'll be able to get the old glue and everything off of the wrap without damaging it.
My suggestion would be quit shooting at the same spot more than once.
