Well, I finally got to an area where I could get out and try out the bow. The sighting in process was the hardest two arrows of my life...LOL. This thing is amazing. After shooting 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards. One arrow per dot, do aviod arrow contact, I was ready to try some broadheads. I wanted to sho...

I still think the trad bow would work. You have to remember, if you are pointing the bow skyward, the bottom limb will be no where near the boat. when at rest the bow would be no more difficult to hold than a crossbow. It sounds like you have your mind made up to use a crossbow though. best of luck.

Are you trying to take them on the wing? If so, a recurve or longbow might be a better choice of archery equipment. Traditional bows point naturally and it is easier, with the use of FluFlu (large uncut fletching, often 6 fletch) to control the distance that the arrows fly. A 6 fletch fluflu will ra...

I have always waxed bowstrings and will wax the crossbow string also. The individual strands move against each other during the shot and create friction which will lead to damaged strings. Waxing will prevent the rubbing from damaging the string. burnishing (rubbing real hard with a leather strap to...

Ok. I think I just answered my own question. I went to turn the pads around and realized that they are square. The reason that they do not appear square is because the inner side has more pressure against the pads, which pushes it out further. I will get these crossbows figured out one of these days...

I have seen those on this site. Those are sweet. I do think that they are a little more $ than I would like to spend. Also, it would be hard for me to take a piece of art like that out in the woods. It would be nice is someone made a rubber sleve that could be pulled over the back portion of the sto...

I took the plunge!
Tonight I went out and picked up a new Excalibur Exocet 200. Tomorrow I will pick up the Vari-zone scope. The Exocet seems real nice. I was thinking of getting a Pheonixx, but the proshop was selling the Exocet for $10 less, so I went with it. I was suprised by a couple of items. On the positive, th...
