Might I also mention, my county and surrounding counties allow unlimited doe harvest.

I would think that weight would have little to do with flyers, unless they only were off in elevation.

If the flyers are inconsistent, more likely the insert or nock is not square.

I would think that light weight arrows could be the cause of the lack of pass thru's. While a light arrow may be quick and at release and have sufficient KE, they lose energy much faster upon impact than a heavier arrow with similar KE. Yes, Rinehart targets can be shot with field points.

After removing the arrow the holes seem to seal up.

Rinehart Targets.

Expensive, but it is a great 3D target that is easy to pull arrows from.


For just shooting around though I would choose a bag target. Morrells Targets are real nice. With many bag targets, pulling arrows is a two finger affair.

The thread was started in reference to target shooting, I can't see how the thread got turned around. Personally, I could care less what some smuck thinks about someone shooting long range with a crossbow. I have had a ton of fun doing it up to around 100 yards, if I had the room I'd love to shoot 2...
