Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6 a.m. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOR...

Re: What's in your "kill kit".
[quote="hockeyfodder"]Someone mentioned Milk weed pod for determining wind direction. This is a great idea as it will spread the milkweed seed around. Lack of milkweed is a major contributor to the decline of the Monarch butterfly population. /quote] Milk weed is far and away the best wind...

Re: What's in your "kill kit".
I carry a couple of gallon bags for the heart and liver; sandwich bags for the paper harvest tag.
I also carry a glow stick in my pack for when I kill a deer at the end of the day. It makes it a lot easier to find the downed deer in the dark and they are 2 for $1.00 at the dollar store.

Re: Hawke XB 30 pro
Anybody have experience with this scope? I'm a Leupold man for the most part but I like the looks of this one. How does the range finding feature work? Doesn't seem to be the normal way of bracket the deer between two horizontal lines. I think it would look good on a new Nightmare 8) ! There isn't ...

Re: Another reason to check for ticks
If you treat your clothing with permethrin you will not find any ticks on you or your clothing. As a bonus it kills those nasty buggers.
I have not been bitten by a tick nor found one in the house in 8 years or so since I have been using it.

They are tough critters for sure. They can go a long way on adrenaline. This buck went a little over a 100 yards: http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u223/HorizontalHunter/ArcheryBuck%2011%2008%202011/Untitled-1.jpg This guy went about 85 yards: http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u223/HorizontalHunte...

Homemade granola bars using this recipie. I substitute 1/2 a cup of unsweetened apple sauce for 1/2 a cup of the butter. Far better than what you get in the store and no noisy wrapper to deal with. http://www.kitchenstewardship.com/2012/08/03/ks-healthy-granola-bar-recipe-classic/?ap_id=stacymakesce...

As said above, you can put a few twists int the string.
I personally would replace the string. That's a lot of energy that went back into the string and limbs.
