How much was the choke? I would also rather shoot a riffled choke and a one of the sabots designed for it then a smoth bore and a challenger slug. With a bit of practice you should be consistent at 50-75 yards...I know guys say all the time that they can do that will challengers but I think its pure...

I do quite a bit of still hunting/stalking up here in Ontario but find it VERY hard due to all the leaves on the ground. Most of the places I hunt are heavly treed with Maples, Ash and Hickory making for a very noisy walk on dry leaves. My biggest tip is for anyone doing still hunting in an area lik...

I read an article some years back and they examined slug diameter and found a fairly moderate variance in diameters of the slugs. The point of the article was that you need to find the slug that fits the bore best by either shooting the various by measuring the bore and slug and shooting or just sh...

I have a Remington Core-Lokt Ultra Slug I recovered from a doe I shot 2 years ago. It was a complete pass thru (double lung and didn't hit the ribs) and then in to a big old round bale she was standing infront of(she ran 15 yards and toppled over). I never even thought of looking for the slug untill...

Ive heard some of the true slug guns can reach that far. Mine has a removable barrel so it'll never accurately get past 150 yards. this doesn't really make to much of a difference because just like any riffle or shot gun...the chamber is actually the barrel so its always true even when taking appar...

My brother and I both show the Remington 870 Deer/Turkey combo 12gauges with the riffled slug barrel and have had great results with the Remington Core-Lokt Ultra Sabot's. I got my shotgun first and bought 2 boxes of every type of Sabot from Shooters Choice in Waterloo (winchester, remington and abou...

What exactly did he die of? I ended his life, Long Trang, because his life was about ended--he was suffering terribly. We have no local vet. It's not something I wanted to do. I hope I never have to do it again. Grizz- Never going thru that I don't know how hard it must have been but my uncle (he i...
