Re: 92 or 110

The big issue is that I am a bit uncertain about what I want exactly? It would be nice to be able to "kick the tires" some before purchasing one. I was hoping to compare the Bulldog 330 to the Mag 340 side-by-side. They weren't that different in price, & I doubt the two shoot all that ...

Re: 92 or 110

I sort of like fixed blades. I shot Muzzy broadheads for decades, but switch to Slick Trick Viper Tricks with brass inserts for my compound bow a few years ago. The Viper Tricks fly extremely well for my compound bow. I was thinking of trying the 150 grain Slick Trick XBow broadheads. If the factory...

Re: 92 or 110

If you don't mind me asking, how many grains are the inserts for the factory 16.5" quills?

Re: Turkey Set Up

It is funny watching someone fold up a doghouse blind. I know my dad & brother struggle with them. My dad will put just put it in his shed unfolded. He watches me fold it up & just scratches his head. I could teach him how to do it, but it's one thing I can do better than him. I need somethi...

Re: string life

I don't own a crossbow yet, but there's nothing wrong with replacing the string early rather than too late. You can always keep the old string for backup (accidentally cut the new one - things happen sometimes). I alway keep the previous set of cables/string for my compound bow for that very same re...

Re: Mag 340 Deer for Dad

Congrats to your Dad! I am always thrilled when my Dad has success, but he's never been into archery. His success comes with Browning A-bolt .270 Win. My Dad is also 80 years old. My brother & I are just happy he still goes out with us! I appreciate your post, because I have been researching cro...

Re: Are the Matrix Series bows lighter?

I may not be the best reference, because I am still in the processing of shopping for my first crossbow. I have noticed the Bulldog 330 @ 5.6 pounds is pretty close to the Mag 340 @ 5.5 pounds. An Exocet 200 was listed @ 6.4 pounds. I am just going by information found on line. I have zero experienc...

Re: And you think a twinstrike is expensive.

I am not that impressed by a crossbow that can shoot 500 fps. I'm impressed by the guy that takes a deer with a longbow, because that takes practice & skill. If a broadhead passes through the vitals @ 500 fps, is the deer more dead than a broadhead passing completely through at 250 fps? If someo...

Re: Legal in Wisconsin

Just for the record - I never stated a Twinstrike was legal or not legal in Wisconsin. If you have a tag, I don't think having two crossbows in a blind is illegal. If there is a rule against that, please share it in writing. A person could have two crossbows cocked, loaded, & ready to fire. I do...

Re: Legal in Wisconsin

If a person carried two loaded crossbows into a hunting blind, I don't think there's a rule against that in Wisconsin. I really don't see Wisconsin enforcing or dealing with this issue, but I've been wrong before. DNR is pretty unpredictable.

Re: New Xbow for 2021

So what's new in 2022? A take down Twinstrike or a faster Twinstrike? Will the other models remain somewhat the same for the next few years? I am sort of new to the crossbow scene, but I've seen this type of marketing for decades. Mathews and their single cam bows had guys hooked on upgrading year a...

Re: New Xbow for 2021

Some are referring to the Twinstrike as being a split limb bow. A split limb bow uses 4 limbs to shoot one arrow. The Twinstrike is still using 2 limbs/arrow. I would call it a double rails/double limbs/double triggers crossbow. I wouldn't think of it as being a split limb crossbow. I don't own a cr...

Re: New Xbow for 2021

I am interested in buying my first crossbow in the next month or two. I've been waiting to see what's new for 2021 & allowing time for Excalibur dealers to get restocked. From what's been shared in this thread, I don't see myself being pulled from the Mag 340 & Bulldog 330 being at the top o...

Re: New Xbow for 2021

I am drawn to the simplicity of Excalibur. Mechanical things eventually break. I am leaning towards the Mag 340 or Bulldog 330, but I need to get one in my hands first. I assume the Mag 340 will be offered in 2021, but I am not certain about the Bulldog 330? Maybe others have more insight on this? I...
