That is a cool Jeep though, you must get a lot of looks in Fl, a state not overly known for its hunting...

Have you ever hunted in Canada?

It's a fake - this photo has been around for atleast a year now...I've heard Elliott Lake, BC, New Brunswick...

Furthermore, all legs on a moose are light coloured. No one could guess he is 10 yrs old without having a peak at his teeth.

Moose don't have beards.

Despite losing the best roasts, I think you did the best thing in waiting...especially considering you did not get a complete pass through...

Congrats, nice buck.

I always try and stop them, unless it is an easy shot...last year I had a 15 inch opening to shoot my buck, so I actually yelled HEY! stopped him, shot him, and retrieved him 20 yards away.

we were able to grab a 14 foot boat with an older motor and drag the 12 footer behind...brought the 12 footer on shore, rolled the moose into it, dragged it to the water, and towed her home....actually not much work to it, it was easier than most bush retrievals.

Moose Hunt

It was a hard hunt this year. We are not seeing as many moose as a few years ago...blame the bears, the wolves...and maybe overhunting. I had chased a big bull for 2 days without ever getting a shot. Finally, on wed night, I decided to paddle a creek where I had shot a bull and a cow 4 years ago. Gr...

The only magazine worth subscribing to. Real hunters, real stories. The Beasley Brothers also just purchased the rights to Canada in the Rough so look for that show to get even better.

A subscription also gives you the chance to enter the King of the Woods contest...check it out.

I don't bird hunt with the bow. If I did, I would not walk with it cocked...you have plenty of time to cock the bow...grouse aren't all that skittish.

Welcome to the forum. I am in North Bay. IF you have any questions or are looking for advice, by all means, feel free to ask. Unfortunately, I don't grouse hunt here anymore but could tell you of a few spots that used to hold birds. In terms of deer hunting, again, I hunt at a camp, and then bowhunt...

I shot my buck last year in -15celsius weather with no problems at all. These bows are made in Canada, for hunting in Canada. Cold is no big deal at all...

I don't oil my bow at all, bring it in each night to dry...oil stinks...I try to stay scent free.
