What about a pronghorn antelope? :D

This Wakeman has been all over the web for years trying to peddle this crock. I've even heard he's employed by Savage. Do you really think that these companies would market substandard rifles in the litigation happy US? They'd be driven out of business with court settlements. I own 2 Traditions and ...

I'm not a taxidermist. You have me confused with Rick Poulin. I believe Rick's in Manitoba hunting right now, but he should have been able to give you some names for reference. I know they're a group that talks with each other regularly. The show is on in Carp today and tomorrow, and you may be able...

The only bows-only area around here that I'm aware of is the Ferguson nursery down by Kemptville. Of course there are the bows-only seasons, but during the regular gun seasons, the only restrictions I'm aware of are shotguns and Muzzleloaders in 64B and 65. The city itself has closed vast areas to h...

Ontario Moose Draw Results

I didn't see this topic here, so I thought I'd start one.

I was drawn for an archery cow tag in WMU 24. Now I'm waiting to hear from the other guys to see if we got a buill as well.

Anyone else?

I really can't see where they'd be all that valuable at archery ranges, but if guys want to use them - why not?

I had a blue one break a couple of years ago. It split in half along the mould marks. I replaced it before these "black ones" came out. Maybe I should pick one up - just to be on the safe side.

We go in from Maple Island - just north of Labrash Lake. I 've seen 13 moose hunting there over the last 3 seasons - the gang has seen 29 all together. Tags are rare though.

Where did you hunt?

Just heard from my brother-in-law. He's drawn a bull for our gun hunt in WMU 47. That means we'll have a chance for an adult animal on both of my hunts.

I was drawn for an archery bull in WMU 24. Our group of 4 old f*rts gets to give it another try starting Sept. 20.

I looked at a top map for 18B, and the whole area seems to be swamp except for a narrow strip along the southern edge of it. I was thinking about trying the ML hunt myself.

When I looked at the picture, I thought the G1 on the left antler was missing. Looking at the numbers posted, side-to-side differences are 13" - not 4". I can't believe the masses - they're shown as 6" averages, where I'd put them at 3 1/2" averages. Tine lengths seem grossly inf...

Why not just post them here rather than direct us somewhere else - especially since I have no idea where that other location is.

Those lengths are more than I originally gave. Now I'd go 62 4/8 for the left and 68 for the right. If they were from a single rack, they look like they'd have quite a spread - something in the order of 20" + , however, side to side differences and non-matched points would significantly reduce ...

Without any perspective, it's awfully hard to make a guess. It's best if you photograph the antlers with something else in the picture that can establish a standard to use in guestimating. A short ruler is really good for this. Undaunted by reason, I've come up with scores of 55 for the left and 61 ...
