I have a Vixen I bought in 2001. I have always used the rope cocker since it is a lot easier to make sure the string is pulled back straight each time you cock. The Excalibur rope cocker and crossbow stringer are essential accessories. I have the Drop Zone scope on my Vixen but if I bought a new one...

I just installed a BSA RD30 red dot on my Emag this afternoon. It fits perfectly on the standard Excalibur scope mounting bracket, bolts right on. It took a bit of adjusting but I was able to get it right on.

I got my RD30 at Wal Mart for about $30.

I used to get everything from Archer's Nook, their prices were good and there was no Excalibur dealer within 100 miles of me. About the time bj came on the forum I placed an order with Archer's Nook and they totally screwed it up, send me the wrong stuff, not what I ordered. Ever since then it's bee...

Yes, it is the bow part of the crossbow.

Why don't you contact bj (you can send him a PM since he's a member of the list). He's a champion crossbow shooter, and I've been able to get everything I've ever needed from him at a good price. I'm sure he knows lots more about crossbows than anyone in SW Kansas.

Several years ago I bought a replacement steel prod for my old Powermaster from alcheminc.com. It's a quality piece of workmanship and has worked out very well. Shortly after I bought it I noticed that they quit advertising the Powermaster replacement steel prods, so I don't know if they're still av...

I have tried both peep sights and scopes on my Excalibur bows. My experience has been that the Excalibur bows are so accurate that you will not obtain their maximum potential without a scope. If you are shooting under normal lighting conditions I would definitely go for a scope.

Butler Creek flip-open covers for Drop Zone scope

I finally figured out which Butler Creek scope covers fit the Drop Zone scope on my Vixen. #14 eye and #10 objective. I don't have a Max Zone or Vari Zone so assume they are different.

You might be able to work out a deal with someone to trade your riser for the older style riser even up (plus shipping).

That was my thinking too. With the new Excaliburs canting the limbs forward, such a large backward angle seems to me like a step backward in crossbow design.

I've talked to Dan Miller, who is the U.S. distributor and service rep for Excalibur, and he thinks the Vixen is the most accurate of the Excal hunting bows. I have a Vixen and can testify to its accuracy.

Sorry to hear about this, but at least you're safe and sound. My wife and I were wiped out by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. There was a lot of property loss but we weren't hurt, fortunately we were in Illinois when it hit. The material things can be replaced over time. Events like this bring out the bes...
