How far does a bolt fly

Hi all
So I don't have to find out the hardway.

How far will a bolt fly if it does not hit anything?
Assume a stock exca; bolt and field point?

Nothing like a good goose shoot!
Can you let us know what the bands tell you? Years ago I was picked to sumbit samples of a wing to Ottawa. They would send back info about species, age etc.

The geese are late moving south this year, lots of crops still out in the fields and warm weather.

Re: Back from VA.

I assume that snake is venomous? Sure glad we don't have venomous snakes here. Garter snakes is about all. Do you folks carry a snake bite kit with you? Many years ago I was surveying in Southern Alberta, one fellow from a drilling crew got bit by a rattler, He had a swollen leg for a few days. The ...

Re: Too hot to hunt deer!

After having the wettest pissy cold summer, we are now having a heat wave. Hit 85 f easy today. Friday AM on the way to work I was driving some grid roads. This was just at sunrise. Saw 4 big deer to far to tell if they were Mules or Whites. I can only hunt Whites. Lots of geese moving but not as ma...

Re: Tracking

I and Buddies have tracked deer hit with a 7mm Mag. 2 miles and never did find him. It was a big long trail of blood over snow, 4 of us at least 4 hours.

This year is the first with a CB. I pass no judgment, but will sure consider what I have read here.

Re: OT: For Canadian Firearms Owners, RE: Wendy Cukier

Darn, I wanted to see the article. Must have been a good flame war!! I still can't stand being treated as if I am Marc Lipine. I didn't do it. Has the real story of how he was raised made as public. He was abused by women and the Dept. of Social Services let him down. Why are they not ranting agains...

Re: Now this is a crazy email

Scott I think it worked better than a "bear Banger". With my knowledge of Bovines, from working on my uncles ranch. Momma Cows with calves at heel are very protective. Espically one's that have had limited contact with people. Cows are familier with the people who work them, but if you are...

Do you know why they are a bit testy. Cause the just realised how stunned they look !! :). I have spent some time in the Melfort area. Real nice, forest fringe area. A small but real nice Regional Park. Kipabisca Lake. A real hidden gem. Good walleye and the odd bear. Interupted a beaver that was ab...

Great Pics. Were in Sask was this?

My Uncle raises Semmital cattle. They are big and the bulls mean as hell.

That is way to interesting. Many farmers have an Alpaca for coyote control.

Re: Hunting trip ruined because of shattered limb...

Lupien That just blows!! From my experiance of composite plastics. ( not cross bows) The fracture looks like a the outside of the limb may have been scored or slammed in a car door ,(which i doubt). If it was scored for some reason it could set up a place for stress fracture to grow, with repeated f...

Re: Best priced whitetail hunts in CANADA?

Deer Nut Glad to see you have passed thru our little piece of paradise. The Qu'Appelle Valley is an old glacier cut in a rather flat part of the great plains. I runs from near the Alberta Border to basiclly Winnipeg Manitoba. Which then drains into the Missourie Basin. There is a chain of lakes know...
