Hey Swamp, how you doing? Glad the splinters are working well for you buddy! The chronographs have many variables associated with their use. Light sources are probably the largest contributor to inaccurate readings. I have found that angling the chronograph to match the pitch my arrow path is taking...

I got the advertised speed with the Ibex, and 355, but low about 7, or 8 FPS with the Vortex. Still, very happy.

Mine sat at1-1/8" from the split with the bumpers, and performed great at that height.

I see someone added pictures of their beautiful family members too, very nice! :D To be proud of your family is something that is bone deep in most of us, and it is what keeps pushing us to do more! To see photos of people radiating, joy, and love through their smiles is a priceless gift!

Thank God he survived the ordeal, and can joke about it some. Guns are very powerful weapons, and he really got a second lease on life based on the path you described of the bullet.

I would take that shot with either Excal. I have. No problem getting the job done with these babies. You just have to make sure your aim is true! Congrats on the deer.
