On a top release claw like the excalibur there is no real difference. If you are shooting 3D or spots you get 1/64 of an inch more of line cutting ability and 22/64 is the current legal max for the WCSA standard. for hunting there is nothing I could think of If you shoot a H orton, (bottom claw) the...

Barnett advertises that its strings and cables are "synthetic" I suspect 16 strands of 450+ for the cables-anyone know? many of these makers won't tell people because they want owners to buy OEM cables but at the shop were I sometimes advise the archery staff, I saw a guy make dacron cable...

Jim The IBO does has a website with a forum section. The forum is frequented by Ken Watkins and all of your questions will be quickly answered. If they don't know the answer they will find out what you need to know and get back with you. The problem with the IBO crossbow division is the lack of par...

IBO RULES

I am setting up a phoenix for WCSA sport which mirrors the IBO as to poundage and Speed. WCSA specifically allows Stabilizers

The IBO rules are rather nebulous demanding that the crossbows be stock. Does that exclude putting a point blanc stabilizer bracket on a phoenix?

I have owned a few barnetts-mostly back in the pre excalibur days. At one time they were pretty good bows-sort of like Bear Archery -but they then became the "Walmart" brand bow and the quantities trumped quality. I had an original commando-great bow fishing rig. I put a light prod on it a...
