Re: Composite Frame vs Aluminium Frame?

I have not been active with crossbows since 2004, so I see a lot of changes. I have been under a rock  , I just found out about Bowtech, anyway............. I took a look at new Excaliburs today. It seems the ergonomics of the 308 Short fit me the best, which was a surprise, but good to know....

Re: Do you Canadians want better legislation for your firearms?

I think we can add a lead ammunition ban to this as well. This is my opinion but I am sorry to say that I think my assessment is correct. Due to my involvement in our club, I received this email'; Dear Sir/ Madam: Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) would like your feedback on the recently ...

Re: 2213's and Current Excalibur Models

I would be looking at a Grizzly which lists at 305 fps.

I don't need a higher velocity for what I want to do.

Re: 2213's and Current Excalibur Models

Wabi Thanks, it has been a long time since I have been here, and seen your posts. I did have good luck with 2213's off my old Vixen but I am careful with my stuff. The thin walled 2213's do dent and get damaged more easily. One advantage is that I still have my real nice Arten Arroset and can check ...

Re: 2213's and Current Excalibur Models

I did successfully shoot them for 3D off an Exocet 15 years ago.

The Exocet was 200#'s

For targets, I might be looking at a Matrix Grizzly which is listed at the same weight with a shorter power stroke.

2213's and Current Excalibur Models

I see that the current line up uses 18" or 16.5" arrows, depending on the model; regardless, the spec.'s cal for a minimum 350 grain arrow. I wanted to see if anyone was using 2213 XX75 shafts, this would be only for target use. I have checked the components I have either by powder scale o...

Re: New to Excalibur Crossbows

I don’t know the nature of the ribbing from others you are taking but all of us crossbowers have heard the BS. Just remember If the bully doesn’t hunt with a longbow in archery season and a flintlock during rifle season then he/she is full of crap. Just hunt! I have been away from the forum a long ...

Re: Composite Frame vs Aluminium Frame?

I am not sure what SMF stands for, either. I have been away for 14 years and I took the term off the web site, thinking SMF was a material, but I see those letters may have been associated with a recent model of crossbow. I just edited the title and first post in an effort to better describe the que...

Composite Frame vs Aluminium Frame?

I have not been active with crossbows since 2004, so I see a lot of changes. Of course, back then, everything in the line had an aluminium frame. So, this question may be old stuff, but to me, its new. Now I see that some models have Composite Frames. I know there is a wide variety of "plastics...

3D Targets, Quantity For Sale; Club Sale

If anyone is interested, I have this posted on the Trading Post section of the forum.

I have placed this here in case someone is interested that might not normally go to that section for targets.

If this is not an appropriate post for this section, please remove it.

As to the police using the registry in their work isn't there some kind of record of all citizens that have a PAL or a POL ? If you have one of these licences it's a good bet that you also have weapons. If the police need this info they shoud check the records for PAL&POL. Yes, I have heard tha...

SPECIAL THANKS to the Waterford Sportsmens Club and the Vendors :!: :D I understand what work is involved to organize events, even at our small club, from running our trap events and from when we used to hold 3D shoots, IMHO, everyone did vary well and it was easy to see a lot of effort was put into...

I'll be there;

Hoping they have a number of clay target shotguns to check out.

I was planning to ride the motorcyle there but the weather forecast for tomorrow favours taking the car.
