Re: Quiver rattles

I noticed that my quiver was making more noise than usual and tightened down the 2 bolts (with acorn nuts) that hold the quiver mount to the quiver bracket again (3rd time this year) and that helped reduced the noise. Unfortunately I removed my quiver last time I was at my stand and went to check my...

Re: At least I heard a deer

Was out this morning for the first time in a couple of weeks. One inch of new snow and -4 C. the snow finished up around 10 pm last night. today should have been great everything was right, wind, timing, snow, etc. and not a track anywhere. this spot has been great for many years, but not today. At ...

Re: Arrow and Bow combinations of forum members

I am using the stock Axiom (metal rail) and firebolt arrows, but am using NAP 100 grain thunderheads and 100 grain target points, with either the flemish dyna-flite or custom flemish strings.

Re: cannot get the bow sighted in!!!!! frustrated!!!!

The problem was the arrows. I got everything sighted in all the way out to 60 yards and grouping well even with broadheads. I am going to have to spend a bunch of time in the off season and get all the arrows patterened and matched. I have 4 what are more than good enough out to 60 yards and matched...

Re: cannot get the bow sighted in!!!!! frustrated!!!!

I actually thought of that myself, but all of those arrows are tried and tested. one still could be bad though. I am using a rest so I can shoot robinhoods all day long without difficulty. I will try the one arrow test and see if that is part of the problem. I always put the bright fletch in the gro...

Re: cannot get the bow sighted in!!!!! frustrated!!!!

OK I checked all bolts on the bow some were not as tight as I could make them and some were. None were actually loose (all were hard to turn). bolts tightened: scope caps x 4 of 8 (all left side) main scope bolts x 2 trigger attachment bolts x 2 limb bar bolts x 4 (I cranked these down some more, bu...

cannot get the bow sighted in!!!!! frustrated!!!!

Went out today to check the bow and get it ready for deer season. the first 6 shots at 20 yards were good and got it sighted in OK, but a couple were well out vertically then moved to 30 yards and started shooting and I could not get more than 2 shots close together. It seemed that every other shot ...

Re: say bye to deer and moose up north

We should pay the mnr based on increase or decrease in fish and game populations, but then there would be 10000000000 starving mnr office pogues and 5 unemployed conservation officers. IMHO the MNR has screwed up the fish and game management so bad that there is not much chance of it recovering in t...

Re: Brownell crossbow center serving. 036 black.

LOL I used to encounter that all the time and to solve it I just started carry a book/magazine with me everywhere (now upgraded to ipod). I rarely find worth while conversations anymore so I just find a quiet spot and read. I get funny looks on occasion and some comments, but I rather read a descent...

Re: Where can I shoot my bow around toronto?

When I lived in TO I could not find any ranges that allowed Xbows.

Even funnier I moved to North Bay and you can shoot a bow in city limits but not a crossbow.

My luck has no limits! LOL

Re: String Theory Help?

Nice one and excellent questions! when I was doing some research on string building I called the file string theory for the same reason! I pull a ton of info from these boards and from the internet and made a single file as a permanent reference. I also found a lot of good videos on youtube.

Re: Trouble makers at it again!

... As the hunting pressure around where I live has been increasing we have had to move areas several times and find new areas to hunt the funny thing is that I can keep finding new areas easy enough with little or no hunting pressure. even where I currently hunt there are many good areas within 5 ...
