Re: WBH survey results

Yup, quite the shooters!! Imagine....a compound out to 185 yards!! Who would have thought...???? Not much strength needed to pull back a high let-off bow these days. I noticed the shooter in one was using a trigger release and a whisker biscuit.....wow.....the skill!! Sights...a peep..... Gotta love...

Re: WBH survey results

No learning curve?
Instant results?

I would suggest your fathers 50 plus years hunting had a major factor in his ability to weild the mighty crossbow.

So, why is it that the WBH has so few members? And whats the average age of the WBH members?

How many bowhunters in Wisconsin again?

Re: WBH survey results

Rancid,

Whats your fathers crossbow set at? Whats his max distance/comfort zone?

Has your father successfully harvested a deer with his crossbow? And if so, at what yardage?

Re: WBH survey results

Rancid, Get your facts straight. Roy Case did not create the Archery season in Wisconsin. He was a part of a much larger group that petitioned the Conservation Committee or the State Conservation Commission, (forget what it was called back then) for a Bow and Arrow only season. Roy Case was a broadh...

Re: WBH survey results

Actually Rancid, the Thompson brothers were the first guys in the US to promote archery and BOWHUNTING, after the civil war. Way back in the late 1800's the two brothers introduced archery and bowhunting to the masses because they had to give up their guns. They coined the phrase BOWHUNTING, and BOW...

Re: Wisconsin Bowhunters association WBA

Just so we know the numbers,
Maybe you can fill us in on the lack of bowhunter participation in your WBH.

You suggest 240,000 bowhunters ........why such low participation?

Re: Wisconsin Bowhunters association WBA

Rancid, Don't take my comments as a "push from Nova Scotia" as gospel. Again, your ability to spin and twist is remarkable......I merely live in this wonderful province and speak for myself only. And as such, I will say, I am alot like other Bowhunters.......even in WI: I totally DISagree ...

Re: Wisconsin Bowhunters association WBA

Based on your ignorance of the plight of hunters all across North America, its safe to say WBH wants to eliminate all forms of hunting, except Bowhunting..... Funny thing is, after careful review of the WBH website, even the defenition of bowhunting, according to WBH can or should be questioned........

Re: Wisconsin Bowhunters association WBA

A few more arrow hunters will not decimate your deer herd! If anything, the harvest stats will be shifted from one user group to another, but thats about it..... The same argument has been thrown around, as has been the norm, taken out of the NABC play book, for years.....more crossbow hunters=more ...

Re: Wisconsin Bowhunters association WBA

C'mon..... You are kidding, right? How many hunters in WI? How many Bowhunters? And, lastly, how many Bowhunters are members of WBH? Do you really think the majority has had a chance to speak? I think not! Its a problem all over the US, and CANADA.......small groups try to control the will of majori...

Re: Wisconsin Bowhunters association WBA

Spin and twist as you see fit Rancid...... Most will see through your smoke and mirrors...............as it is obvious here on this crossbow forum. Those who take the time to dig a bit deeper into the WBH will assume their stance as an anti hunting organization, other than "bowhunting." Sa...
