Re: Max distance Excal Vixen (TARGET ONLY)
500 gr total arrow weight is pretty heavy for a target arrow. You'd probably be better off with done around 350 gr total weight.

Re: Who shoots 3D shoots with a crossbow?
How do the scores compare between the top crossbow shooters and the top open class compound shooters. I can't see the crossbow scores being any bet or even as good as the compound guys myself. It's easier to hold a open class compound setup correctly still on target than it is a crossbow free hande...

Re: Deer Drives
Did that with a camp I was part of for almost ten years. We had 2000 acres of private land and the hunted one area at a time. Had about 15 guys in the camp and most hunts had 3 or 4 guys pushing with the dogs and the others were blockers. Every hunt was set up with safety in mind. None of the blocke...

Re: Why did you buy an X-bow?
I shot vertical bows on and off since I was a kid. Never really gave much thought to getting a crossbow. Back in 2004 Vixchix was out hunting with her compound and the combination of cold weather and the fact that she was six months pregnant lead her to the revelation that a crossbow might be more p...

Re: What ya got for Binoculars?
I use Carson 842HD 3D. On par with Vortex Diamondbacks. Both a great choice in the $300 range.
Good rule of thumb for longer range clarity is to make sure your objective lens us at least five times your magnification. In other words 8 power should be at least x40 and 10 power x50 etc.
