Re: Excel string with 0.035" Angel Majesty Test
Can’t shoot in the city of Ottawa and the local clubs begin to open the weekend after Easter. I can only shoot at 3D tournaments. So far I have put through 170 shots with this serving. I am shooting a 2011 Excalibur Equinox (draw weight 225 pounds) with Carbon Firebolts weighing 367 grains. There is...

Re: 3 camo pattern,s ???
G'day Dave,
I have a 2011 Equinox with the same three camo patterns. Not a problem as I am having it dipped with non-camo patterns in the near future. Tired of losing the bow after putting it down on the forest floor to retrieve arrows at a 3D tournament.
Cheers,
Bill

Re: Silencing your Crossbow!
Bullzeye, couldn't find the wraps in Canada online. Local stores did not have them. Got them from Bowhunters International, Bowhunters Supply Store (Sims Tentacle Insulator Wrap, Black. (LS3407) = $14.99, Bowjax Stabilizer Dampeners 1"Dia., Black. (BJ1051BLK) = $19.98). Had them in less than a ...

Re: Silencing your Crossbow!
What made a big difference for me was a Limbsaver Tentacle Wrap wrapped over the stirrup and heat shrink tubing on the arrow retainer. I have always had the STS vibration damper system on the bow (a generous gift from a member on this forum). I added a BowJax Super Maxjax Damper over each of the STS...

Re: Boo Trigger's
When Don did my trigger, he told me the first time I use it to be on target BEFORE touching the trigger. Wow what a difference, smooth as silk. The release was a total surprise. No slack. Like Dereck stated, the pull weight was the same but when pulling the trigger back the feel was completely diffe...

Reserving a Flemish string
I usually get through a practice session and a 3D tournament before my serving goes. I am shooting an Equinox with 368 grain arrows. When I say the serving goes, it will show fraying where the latch holds the string, serving separation or in the worse case the serving breaks where the latch holds it...

DropTine Archery, Napanee, Ontario
Has anyone here used the dipping service at DropTine Archery? If so, how did it turn out. Would you recommend them?
Thinking of getting my bow done. Wanted to try a company that is close by.
Thanks,
Bill

Edge Bow Butler Quiver
Has anyone used their crossbow with an Edge Bow Butler Quiver (by EXPEDITE INTERNATIONAL). I am wondering if its legs are strong enough to hold an Equinox. Looks like a great thing to have during a 3D tournament.

ECLIPSE XT Crossbow
Was just looking at the LeBaron's online catalog and they are listing the "new" ECLIPSE XT bow. It appears to be a Vortex bow with a black carbon fiber finish, a S5 system and matching cheekpiece

Re: Spare String
My Equinox eats servings. Right now I have three pre-stretched and re-served strings that I rotate as needed. I am a 3D shooter putting a ton of arrows through my bow. All I have to do is remove the string (with a stringing aid) that has its serving damaged, put on one of my spare strings to the rig...

Re: A Dry Fire...and wasn't my fault
G'day Awshucks, I went to a buddy’s place to practice yesterday afternoon, determined to get an in on the DFC. I was totally focused on this. It was tough though. My routine is now ingrained, cock the bow, safety on, seat arrow against the cocked string, acquire target, safety off, slowly squeeze tr...
